Great location, close to everything. Large car park. Spacious apartment, fully equipped and with all amenities one can imagine. And the bathroom... the best we saw in Japan; ever. Comfortable beds, strong wifi, washing / drying machine with detergent provided. Large balcony which must be great in summer. The staff is very welcoming and helpful, English is understood by everyone. We cannot recommend enough this place.

Situated in Nachikatsuura, 1.6 km from Nachi Beach, Pension Sora features accommodation with a garden, free private parking and a shared lounge. Pension Sora was the perfect getaway from the city. Everything felt like it came straight out of a movie — peaceful, beautiful, and relaxing. The staff and owner were incredibly kind, and the view was amazing. A truly perfect stay.

Comfort Hotel Kii Tanabe is set in Tanabe, 5.3 km from Tanabe City Museum of Art and 6.9 km from Kamitonda Concert Hall. This property is a real gem. Everything about it is fantastic. It’s my third time staying here and it never disappoints. Even the laundry machines are amazing!

Boasting garden views, ゲストハウス柚 features accommodation with free bikes, a garden and a terrace, around 200 metres from Kumano Hayatama Taisha. A very kind and hospitable host who left us many thoughtful gifts — coffee, candies, and even ice cream in the fridge! The room was cozy and comfortable, and we especially loved the couches. The bath was a real treat after a long day of walking. We only stayed one night, but we wish we could have stayed longer — it’s such a lovely place!

NONAGASE GUEST HOUSE, a property with a garden, is situated in Chikatsuyu, 300 metres from Kumanokodo Nakahechi Museum of Art, 29 km from Kamitonda Concert Hall, as well as 31 km from Hosshinmon Oji... Everything was fantastic: the amazing staff we met, who took care of us the best way possible (thank you so much), delicious homemade food we ate (catering for our special requirements as well) , and beautiful home and room. Perfect stay - I would have stayed there for a week !

簡易宿所 ふくろく is located in Shingu, less than 1 km from Kamikura Shrine, a 13-minute walk from Shingu Castle Ruins Park, as well as 1.4 km from Kumano Hayatama Taisha. Exceptionally nice. Wonderful rooms and clean easy shared facilities. The host was wonderful and so very kind.

Located in Shingu, 400 metres from Kamikura Shrine, 長徳寺宿坊 Temple Hotel has a garden, private parking and rooms with free WiFi access. My family and I liked how spacious, convenient and warm welcoming our host was! The location was few minutes walking distance to local restaurants and family mart. It was also approximately 8 minutes from Kumano Hayatama Taisha and in front of the bus stop heading towards to Nachi. Our host, Sasaki-san, was also kind to give us an introduction to the place along with offering free icecream, beer and sake! Overall we recommend this place!

Set in Tanabe in the Wakayama region, with Kumanokodo Nakahechi Museum of Art nearby, 民宿 和合 Minshuku WAGO features accommodation with access to a hot tub. Ike-san runs a great guesthouse that serves weary Kumano travelers very well! Easy to get to with nice clean warm rooms and an awesome host! Even gave me a ride to the restaurant in town, so I could make the last order time! I also added the tasty curry breakfast and a desperately needed bento (once well into my trek to Hongu).
