The room is very comfortable with complete amenities. The adjoining restaurant/cafe also provided delicious food for dinner and breakfast. Totally recommended for people who want to enjoy Koyasan but wanting to save on accommodation by not staying in the temples.

Located in the sacred Koyasan area, Saizenin offers simple accommodation surrounded by mountains and many temples. The dinner was so pretty and complete, thanks for the attention to details!

Staying at Eko-in was an exceptional and unforgettable experience. I highly recommend booking the Okunoin cemetery night tour—it was both atmospheric and deeply moving. The meals are fully vegetarian and beautifully presented. If you're not a fan of tofu, some of the dinner dishes might not be to your taste—but that, too, is part of the cultural and spiritual experience. I was initially anxious about sleeping on a traditional futon, but it turned out to be surprisingly comfortable and added to the overall sense of authenticity. A truly unique stay.

Boasting garden views, ゲストハウス柚 features accommodation with free bikes, a garden and a terrace, around 200 metres from Kumano Hayatama Taisha. The building and the rooms are super traditional and charming and spacious and comfortable. There was a shaved ice machine and prepared ice and sirup, very tasty! Fantastic location, there is a great temple right next to it. The host was super friendly and helpful, he made the stay great!

NONAGASE GUEST HOUSE, a property with a garden, is situated in Chikatsuyu, 300 metres from Kumanokodo Nakahechi Museum of Art, 29 km from Kamitonda Concert Hall, as well as 31 km from Hosshinmon Oji... This was the most wonderful stay I have experienced. I stayed here whilst I did the Kumano Kodo. I loved the style of the building. The location was great for the walk itself as a half way point. You feel exhausted after that first day and this is a great place to stay to rest and recoup. The welcome drink was very welcomed and we enjoyed it in the lovely garden. The room its self was plush and so comfortable. Hitomi and Omry did everything to make this the most comfortable and enjoyable stay. I don’t even know where to start with the meal, you must book the dinner, breakfast and lunch. It was definitely at the maximum end of my budget to do this but I will never forget the experience. Me and my friend shared a 5 course dinner, all courses were oishi (delicious) and so perfectly presented. Even now 2 months later I can remember the dinner and the flavours and how it made me feel. The packed lunch the next day was perfect fuel for the walk. Great shower to rinse off from the day as well and lovely living room area.

簡易宿所 ふくろく is located in Shingu, less than 1 km from Kamikura Shrine, a 13-minute walk from Shingu Castle Ruins Park, as well as 1.4 km from Kumano Hayatama Taisha. Such a lovely stay with the best okonomiyaki just down the road! Hospitality was amazing and even gave us some manju that they make in their shop to try!! Delicious! Perfect stay in a great location for the kumano kodo trail. Would definitely stay again!

Located in Shingu, 400 metres from Kamikura Shrine, 長徳寺宿坊 Temple Hotel has a garden, private parking and rooms with free WiFi access. Very friendly and helpful host. Run me through all the equipment and helped with my luggage and time issue. Also the room is super clean and equipped with everything you need. Definitely recommend.
