We had a large apartment with all modern facilities provided for 7 days. We were on the 10th floor with a wrap around balcony which gave us 280 degree views of the ocean, Kii Mountains and Shirahama town. The complex is very new so all accessories were in very good order. The bath for a Japanese facility was very large and thus used often. We chose this apartment complex because of it's location to the beach, supermarket and onsens. We especially enjoyed being able to cook for ourselves and everything necessary for that was provided.

Located in the sacred Koyasan area, Saizenin offers simple accommodation surrounded by mountains and many temples. The place is very Clean and the whole experience was just unforgetable.

A 1000 year-old Buddhist temple, Shukubo Koya-san Eko-in offers Japanese-style accommodation, a beautiful garden and free WiFi. Staying at Eko-in was an exceptional and unforgettable experience. I highly recommend booking the Okunoin cemetery night tour—it was both atmospheric and deeply moving. The meals are fully vegetarian and beautifully presented. If you're not a fan of tofu, some of the dinner dishes might not be to your taste—but that, too, is part of the cultural and spiritual experience. I was initially anxious about sleeping on a traditional futon, but it turned out to be surprisingly comfortable and added to the overall sense of authenticity. A truly unique stay.

One of my best hostel stays during a 6 month solo tour. The hosts spoke perfect english and were so welcoming. I even left behind my phone charger and they were kind enough to mail it to my next location. They also drove me to the train station the following morning. No to mention the views from the house are spectacular. I really can't recommend this place enough.

A very kind and hospitable host who left us many thoughtful gifts — coffee, candies, and even ice cream in the fridge! The room was cozy and comfortable, and we especially loved the couches. The bath was a real treat after a long day of walking. We only stayed one night, but we wish we could have stayed longer — it’s such a lovely place!

Hitomi san and Hikaru San made me feel home, the house is just so beautiful in deep japanese style, and the cooking so tasty an original. Probably one of the best stay in Kumano Kodo.

The location is very near JR Shingu station with restaurants, konbini and a supermarket nearby. Host is very accommodating and very helpful with all my needs.

My family and I liked how spacious, convenient and warm welcoming our host was! The location was few minutes walking distance to local restaurants and family mart. It was also approximately 8 minutes from Kumano Hayatama Taisha and in front of the bus stop heading towards to Nachi. Our host, Sasaki-san, was also kind to give us an introduction to the place along with offering free icecream, beer and sake! Overall we recommend this place!
