Easy location near Yamagata Station, nice clean rooms and facilities, great amenities, 7-11 right downstairs, staff was great and friendly Everything about this hotel is made to be easy for the traveler. We didn’t include breakfast in our stay as it was for 6 nights but did buy tickets for one morning and it was delicious for a reasonable price

Located in Yamagata, 700 metres from Zao Onsen Ski Resort, G-SQUARE provides accommodation with a shared lounge and free private parking. The real ski-in ski-out experience, very accessible from the cable car station, literally a 1 minute walk. Breakfast was superb it was almost like lunch buffet. The rooms are spacious for a group of three, very clean and the toilets are Modern and comfortable. Thank you for taking care of us.

Featuring an open-air bath, Kameya Hotel is located in the Yunohama Onsen district of Tsuruoka, only 3.5 km from Kamo Aquarium. This ryokan provides free private parking and a 24-hour front desk. Amazing Hotel, even though it is a very traditional and old place, the rooms are very modern and renovated with all the amenities one can think of. Onsen is good too, but very hot. The beach is literally just across the road! The rooms all have an ocean view. Staff is extremely friendly and breakfast is also great. Just watch out to book dinner if possible, as there are not many options to eat around town if you don’t want to take the car.

Situated in Tendo in the Yamagata region, Ichiraku tendo spa & brewery features accommodation with free private parking, as well as access to a hot spring bath. What a cool place! There were so many opportunities to taste the beer that was brewed locally on-site. From the drinks bar at check-in to the tasting room open all day to the all-you-can-drink plan at dinner, the hotel was really quite generous with their liquid offerings. Even non-drinkers are accommodated with plenty of alcohol-free options. We also liked that they had multiple private baths on site. The main onsen were also quite nice. The food was fantastic and the beef served at dinner was some of the best I've had.

Boasting natural hot spring baths, Hohoemino Kuyufu Tsuruya is located a 15-minute walk from JR Tendo Station, 50 km from Sendai. Everything about the hotel is beyond my expectation. Hospitality service are first class and all staffs treat their guests with care. The onsens are nice and comfort. The room is great and large. The hotel is well-decorated. The facility and amenities are superb. The view is also relaxing. I arrived at the hotel late and staffs picked me up at the station. Everything was just perfect!

Guests at Hayamakan can enjoy traditional multi-course meals and relax in the indoor/outdoor hot-spring baths. Breakfast and dinner were delicious and plentiful. The private dining rooms were wonderful. Hotel interior was beautiful. The staff offered great help with our forgotten belongings.

Located just 24 km from Kamo Aquarium, Tamonkan features accommodation in Tsuruoka with access to a garden, a terrace, as well as a concierge service. Very friendly staff with surprisingly good English. The room was spacious and clean, and the food was delicious. Good location close to Mount Haguro which was well worth the trip.

Located within a 10-minute walking distance from the Zao Sky Cable aerial lift, Miyamaso Takamiya features 9 natural hot spring baths for guests to enjoy. Friendly staff, excellent meals, traditional ryokan with full of histories!!!

Situated in Yamagata, Guesthouse Mintaro Hut features accommodation with free private parking. The 1-star guest house has air-conditioned rooms with a shared bathroom and free WiFi. The host is so nice. He drove me to the station without even asking for it. dinner time is the best, traditional japanese dinner to be joined with a donation. All super tasty, and with nice conversations.
