Easy location near Yamagata Station, nice clean rooms and facilities, great amenities, 7-11 right downstairs, staff was great and friendly Everything about this hotel is made to be easy for the traveler. We didn’t include breakfast in our stay as it was for 6 nights but did buy tickets for one morning and it was delicious for a reasonable price

Excellent stay, Ski in an Out, geat facilities to Store/Dry your Ski Gear, in the Slope, close to Cable and Chairlifts. It has everything that you might need. Great Breakfast and Staff is super nice and helpful.

Featuring an open-air bath, Kameya Hotel is located in the Yunohama Onsen district of Tsuruoka, only 3.5 km from Kamo Aquarium. This ryokan provides free private parking and a 24-hour front desk. Amazing history and gardens. Rooms were enormous, with open views of the beach and with a cedar bathtub fed by hot springs in the room.

Situated in Tendo in the Yamagata region, Ichiraku tendo spa & brewery features accommodation with free private parking, as well as access to a hot spring bath. The tatami room was lovely and the bed very comfortable for a futon type. There are a number of different style rooms. We especially booked a room with a private outdoor shower and bath. The food was superb in every respect. There were a number of beers available and, surely, there is a taste to appeal to everyone. The staff were caring and took time to understand the hotel guests. The communal bath was nice and the outdoor areas in general were pleasant. The test of a hotel is to positively answer the question, 'would you stay here again?' Our answer is that we returned after visiting here a year ago, except this time we doubled the length of our stay.

Boasting natural hot spring baths, Hohoemino Kuyufu Tsuruya is located a 15-minute walk from JR Tendo Station, 50 km from Sendai. Wonderful room with amazing private Onsen. The Kaiseki dinner was beautifully prepared and a unique experience. The Ryokan team always made sure to accommodate our wishes. We really enjoyed our stay even though our Japanese was very basic.

Guests at Hayamakan can enjoy traditional multi-course meals and relax in the indoor/outdoor hot-spring baths. Im very impressed. The staff provided excellent service. Highly recommended!

Located just 24 km from Kamo Aquarium, Tamonkan features accommodation in Tsuruoka with access to a garden, a terrace, as well as a concierge service. Wonderful hospitality and exceptional vegetarian Shojin Ryori cuisine. Great base to explore Mt Haguro. Hotel staff accepted our baggage, despite it being too early to check in and directed us to a local museum where we could borrow rain boots and poles to hike Mt Haguro in extreme snowy conditions!

Located within a 10-minute walking distance from the Zao Sky Cable aerial lift, Miyamaso Takamiya features 9 natural hot spring baths for guests to enjoy. it was the best experience for me to stay in this beautiful ryokan. the staff is very nice try to explain everything in english. they also provide yukata to wear. the food is very delicious. everything is exceed my expectation. also they send us to terminal bus by car, because there is a heavy snowfall.

Situated in Yamagata, Guesthouse Mintaro Hut features accommodation with free private parking. The 1-star guest house has air-conditioned rooms with a shared bathroom and free WiFi. This place is an absolute experience in itself! Plan to spend some time home in the evening, chatting with the owner, while he cooks a shared dinner (most evenings, according to him. TASTY!) and the other guests. The staff speaks English very well.
