The room is spacious (in Japanese standard), modern and clean. There’s a small sofa and a desk chair, so both of us can sit at the same time. This is so special for Japanese hotel at the same price range. Bathroom is roomy and modern. The overall vibe of the hotel is modern and cozy. Short walk from Yamagata station and 7-11 down stairs is a plus.

I Tsuruoka, 3,5 kilometer fra Kamo Aquarium, ligger Kameya Hotel, som har en hage og gratis privat parkering. Amazing history and gardens. Rooms were enormous, with open views of the beach and with a cedar bathtub fed by hot springs in the room.

I Tendō, 30 kilometer fra Zao Hotsprings Skianlegg, ligger Ichiraku tendo spa & brewery, som har en hage, gratis privat parkering, en fellesstue og en terrasse. Really enjoyable stay with free flow of craft beers, cocktails, wines and sake. Well organised check in and briefing by friendly staffs who helped to moved luggage up to second floor. Very delicious Kaiseki Dinner and fantastic breakfast with well prepared beef steak...

Takasagoya Ryokan ligger i Zao Onsen. Dette 3-stjerners ryokanet har en restaurant i tillegg til rom med klimaanlegg, gratis WiFi og felles bad. The breakfast and dinner is traditional Japanese and is excellent and value for money. The dinner was especially sumptuous and was more than expected. It had a small onsen and for the more adventurous you can also use on of the 3 public onsen that was only steps away from the front door. It's exceptionally close to the ski lift - easily walkable even with gear.

Boasting natural hot spring baths, Hohoemino Kuyufu Tsuruya is located a 15-minute walk from JR Tendo Station, 50 km from Sendai. Beautiful property. The room was spacious! Even for Western standards. The private onsen was very nice. We did not try the public onsen. The staff were courteous and helpful. Although the staff had limited English proficiency, they all used a translation app to help with communication which was incredibly helpful.

Guests at Hayamakan can enjoy traditional multi-course meals and relax in the indoor/outdoor hot-spring baths. Beautiful facility with lots of interesting corridors, nooks and crannies to explore; spacious, comfortable room; excellent onsen; delicious, beautifully prepared meals.

I Tsuruoka, 24 kilometer fra Kamo Aquarium, ligger Tamonkan, som har en hage, gratis privat parkering og en terrasse. Dette ryokanet ligger ideelt til i Mount Haguro, 46 kilometer fra Shinjo stasjon. Wonderful hospitality and exceptional vegetarian Shojin Ryori cuisine. Great base to explore Mt Haguro. Hotel staff accepted our baggage, despite it being too early to check in and directed us to a local museum where we could borrow rain boots and poles to hike Mt Haguro in extreme snowy conditions!

Located within a 10-minute walking distance from the Zao Sky Cable aerial lift, Miyamaso Takamiya features 9 natural hot spring baths for guests to enjoy. it was the best experience for me to stay in this beautiful ryokan. the staff is very nice try to explain everything in english. they also provide yukata to wear. the food is very delicious. everything is exceed my expectation. also they send us to terminal bus by car, because there is a heavy snowfall.

Guesthouse Mintaro Hut ligger bare 18 kilometer fra Zao Hotsprings Skianlegg, i Yamagata. Dette 1-stjernes gjestgiveriet har rom med klimaanlegg, felles bad og gratis WiFi. Staff are very friendly, and the atmosphere are super good plus the bed sheet smells very good!! There is 2 very cute shy cute

I Tendō, 30 kilometer fra Zao Hotsprings Skianlegg, ligger Tendo Hotel, som har gratis sykler, gratis privat parkering og en fellesstue. The Onsen was wonderful and in a great location we had a great breakfast with lots of options. Dinner was a beautiful traditional Japanese cuisine.
