Very comfortable! The bathtub is what sold me on the room! Nice big tub with views over the ocean and hot spring water pumped directly into your bathtub! The included breakfasts were also very good, very large servings, I didn't need lunch the days I had the breakfasts. The on-site onsens were heavenly, the "help yourself" coffee station was great, and the shop had all the things I like from the hotel available to buy ( got caramel apple tea and the lovely skin sets to take home). Highly reccommend this hotel!

Boasting natural hot spring baths, Hohoemino Kuyufu Tsuruya is located a 15-minute walk from JR Tendo Station, 50 km from Sendai. Beautiful property. The room was spacious! Even for Western standards. The private onsen was very nice. We did not try the public onsen. The staff were courteous and helpful. Although the staff had limited English proficiency, they all used a translation app to help with communication which was incredibly helpful.

Guests at Hayamakan can enjoy traditional multi-course meals and relax in the indoor/outdoor hot-spring baths. Nice staff and good service, excellent room and spa, food are also fine

Located within a 10-minute walking distance from the Zao Sky Cable aerial lift, Miyamaso Takamiya features 9 natural hot spring baths for guests to enjoy. One of the best ryokans we’ve stayed at in Japan. The location feels straight out of a Ghibli movie, with over 300 years of history and an amazing atmosphere. We stayed for 3 nights and enjoyed some of the best Japanese food each day at the ryokan restaurant. Since both me and my partner have tattoos, we booked the private onsen every evening through reception. The real highlight was the staff. They went above and beyond to make our stay special, spoke good conversational English, and checked in daily to ensure everything was perfect. Highly recommended for an authentic, cozy ryokan experience!

Ubytovanie Guesthouse Mintaro Hut sa nachádza v destinácii Yamagata 18 km od miesta lyžiarske stredisko Zao Hotsprings. It was a warm and cozy house. I still vividly remember the scene—drinking hot coffee with a cute little cat by my side, soft music playing in the background, casually chatting with guests from another country, while the firewood crackled, the woods burned, and snow gently fell outside. I truly believe these memories will continue to heal me in the future. The food the hosts made was so delicious. Thank you so much for the wonderful food and heartfelt hospitality. This house truly gave me a feeling of home. I felt really sad on my way to the airport 🥲 I’ll definitely be back soon!!!

The Onsen was wonderful and in a great location we had a great breakfast with lots of options. Dinner was a beautiful traditional Japanese cuisine.
