Plus, there are plenty of adorable kids around who’ll brighten your day. Can’t wait to come back—highly recommended!

The place itself is also beautiful and rustic. Breakfast is available for free and dinner is $5 and completely worth it. When I was there, everyone staying shared both meals, which created a wonderful sense of camaraderie. Saro took me to the bat cave personally and showed me around Phnom Sampeu. (He also knows secret places for good photos and bat viewing.) He also arranged a day tour with an English-speaking tuktuk driver and made sure I could see a spot that wasn't on the usual itinerary. The room itself was a private one room bamboo bungalow - simple, but comfortable and a good new experience. It had a mattress, mosquito net, fan, light, and working electrical outlet, which is really all you need. Also, I was welcomed with a plate of fresh fruit and given the chance to try frogs, cruckets, and Cambodian beers after dinner. This is a special place and one of the highlights of visiting Cambodia. If you are looking for a real homestay or something different from the usual hotel/hostel experience, this is your place in Battambang. Highly, highly recommended.

We loved the staff who were so helpful as well as the owners. Very helpful. We had the lake room and it was beautiful and homely. Food was excellent also. Would definitely stay again. Our favourite accommodation in Cambodia.
