We loved our stay at the Villa Romduol - this is an amazing place that offers an incredible value - it was the best place we stayed at during our travels in Cambodia (so far) yet the cheapest which is just crazy. It's so beautiful and relaxing - both our room and the common areas and outdoor garden are so beautiful and the villa staff / owners so incredibly nice, kind and generous. We spent most of our time just staying put and enjoying it all, as it was so beautiful and convenient with delicious meals served in the beautiful surroundings that we were not keen on going out at all - except for bike riding in the nearby countryside which was amazing and the free bikes provided by the Villa were excellent and perfect for the local roads (as these were quite rough and sandy in places...). We were sad to leave, as we had already booked to stay elsewhere in / near Kampot - the Villa Romduol and the owners' family will be fondly remembered :)

Eugene the owner was wonderful, he arranged a great half day tuk tuk trip to see the local area (hidden cave was terrific) and our connecting transport to Ha Tien. A genuinely lovely bloke. The room was light and spacious , good aircon and 15 min walk to the riverfront where there are lots of bars and restaurants.

The rooftop terrace is another highlight. Open and spacious, it offers 360-degree views of Kampot, perfect for both sunrise and sunset, with the mountains on one side and the town on the other. Even if you’re out exploring during the day, make time to come up here—it’s worth it. We were lucky enough to meet Tola, one of the owners, in person, while Patrick was always just a message away on WhatsApp. Their hospitality was next-level—not just friendly, but genuinely invested in making sure we had the best experience in Kampot. Need a scooter? They’ll sort it. Have a question? They’ll answer before you’ve finished typing. It felt less like staying at a hotel and more like staying with friends who happen to be excellent hosts. A small but brilliant touch was the Welcome Book in our room. Now, I’m a logical guy—former project manager—so I really appreciated how well-thought-out and practical it was. It wasn’t just another generic guidebook; it told the story of the owners, explained how everything in the room worked, and laid out the best of Kampot in a way that made planning effortless. There are subtle sustainability hints woven throughout the book and the hotel itself—little reminders that made me rethink my own habits. Clean, tidy and inspiring room, near to shops, restaurants and places of interest. Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent facilities, including unlimited drinking water and free bananas! Fantastic value for money!

The host Olaf and his family were very welcoming...very clean comfortable well run establishment...the bed was even comfortable (rare for Cambodia)... also the breakfast was excellent. Olaf can help you with most things, motorbike hire,trips, tickets etc...even has a printing service for visas etc. A very quiet relaxing guest house. Great value.

The hosts are truly charming people who do everything to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Thanks to them. The location of the hotel on the other side of the river is great: you just have to cross the small bridge to be right in the center. The guest house is brand new and you can rent scooters in very good condition for cheap. In short, a great place!
