Set in a restored French colonial villa adjacent to the Royal Palace, Palace Gate Hotel & Resort offers accommodations in Phnom Penh with views of the Tonle Sap River. We stayed only one night ... basically, a quick stopover. We generally book with "breakfast included". The breakfast buffet here was very good ... plenty of tasty choices. We did not use the facilities because our stay was a) so short, b) the location is so good. The hotel is a couple of minutes walk from the palace complex, a municipal park and a riverfront walk that features many (dozens?) of restaurants and fast food outlets. Our room was very spacious and well decorated Hotel staff were courteous and very helpful. We were able to store our luggage with the concierge on checkout day while we went on a day long tour. Wish we had the time to stay longer.

We had a very warm welcome. It was a good sized modern room with all amenities. Good food and location. Wish we had longer to enjoy the pool.

As a solo female traveler I felt safe, comfortable and welcomed by the husband and wife owners. They were always prompt to answer booking emails and questions, greeted me at the door when I arrived in the middle of the night, provided a delicious breakfast and friendly conversation. I would highly recommend Naraya Guest House and if you have reason to stay longer than just overnight because of the airport convenience then do!
