What a great hotel! The tent is very spacious, clean and comfortable. The staff is super friendly and helpful. They were so nice for the kids. The surroundings are beautiful. Featuring a garden and views of garden, Mailagama Cinnamon Residence is a recently renovated guest house set in Kataragama, 21 km from Situlpawwa. We’re really glad we chose the Mailagama Cinnamon Residence for our stay in Kataragama. The staff treated us with great respect and warm hospitality. We thoroughly enjoyed the hoppers dinner with its absolutely delicious curries. We must also mention that the curd and honey were the best we’ve ever had.

Offering a garden and garden view, Lake Front Yala Safari is located in Kataragama, 18 km from Tissa Wewa and 18 km from Situlpawwa. The hosts were very good and accommodating of all our requests. Room was very big and comfortable, and a great budget stay.

With pool views, Tranquil Wild is located in Tanamalwila and has a restaurant, room service, snack bar, garden, year-round outdoor pool and terrace. This property was in a beautiful setting! You feel very close to nature, with lots of trees, plants, birds. It is right on a lake. The owner, Anne, the manager, Amal, and each and every staff member were incredibly kind and professional. Our every need was met. We had full board, and the food exceeded our expectations! We were so full! There were lots of choices, but we had Sri Lankan food, it was just delicious! We had Tranquil book us two safaris, and we loved them! We didn’t see leopards, but another group did the same day we went out. We saw plenty of wildlife. A bonus was the fresh, clean pool for a morning or afternoon swim, with chairs to relax in the sun or shade. Thank you, Tranquil, for your hospitality. We’ll be back! We recommend this place and the park nearby, over the busier places.

Drawing inspiration from traditional village, Jetwing Kaduruketha - Level 1 Certified is a luxurious eco agro-resort. This place has been a great discovery on our visit to Sri Lanka, a place to remember. The landscape surrounded by mountains and rice fields, the sunset, the cabins, the very friendly and close staff, Nana (the restaurant manager) and the people who worked with him, the quietness and tranquility of the place. And especially the food, my husband and I are lovers of gastronomy and in this place we have enjoyed flavors, the quality of nearby and local food and a formidable chef. We had a massage at the Spa and it was really good. Although this experience would not have been the same without the attention and care of Saduni, her treatment, help and attention at all times were excellent as well as the ability to solve and manage when we needed it. She has been a great gift.

Located in Kataragama, 15 km from Tissa Wewa and 23 km from Situlpawwa, Yala Thaman offers a garden and air conditioning. Yala Thaman hosts like no other that we have seen so far. In a nice quiet area, you can relax in air conditioned rooms or move over to the dining area and enjoy the climate of Kataragama. In close proximity to Kataragama city we were easily able to access the city and other local attractions through the taxi service that is offered with your room fee. The beautiful family that owns the hotel were always happy to drop everything to help out with anything that you might need. Would recommend 10/10

Set in Wellawaya, VR Nature Cottage CABANA offers accommodation with a garden, free WiFi, room service, and a 24-hour front desk. This lodge provides free private parking and babysitting service. Located close to the Buduruwagala rock carvings and Diyaluma waterfall. Shalika and his family were extremely warm and welcoming. The food was amazing. All fresh ingredients grown by themselves. If you're looking for a real Sri Lankan family experience this place is perfect. Also Shalika drove us to our next destination, the beautiful mountain town of Ella.

Situated in Galgamuwa in the Monaragala District region, Redstone Cottage Gal Oya has a terrace and mountain views. We had the most wonderful stay in Redstone cottage. It was by far our favourite hotel in our 3 week trip around Sri Lanka. The staff anticipated our every need, the chef cooked food we loved and every meal was a highlight. Sydney has made a little slice of paradise. The jungle on the doorstop, birds and wildlife really made this stay stand out. The staff are employed from a recently displaced tribe and syndey is passionate about the local area and the people. This really stands out. Anuradha was our guide throughout and his knowledge was next level. He took us up monkey mountain, around the local reservoir and on all our safaris. His wildlife and plant knowledge as well as his calm and likeable character made the whole stay magical. We would stay again in a heartbeat and if you are thinking of booking don't hesitate.
