Staying at the Silvan Garden hotel changed the trajectory of our trip. But more on that later* In terms of the hotel - Well priced with everything we needed - Intentionally limited to 10 rooms to ensure a relaxing stay in the spirit of the Cameron highlands - A great breakfast spread included with a tasteful mix of local and western favourites - Peaceful outside terrace with beautiful views of the mountains and classic Cameron highlands colonial architecture - Great location in the heart of the Cameron Highlands, and a few minutes walk into the centre of Tanah Rata with lots of great Malay, Chinese and Indian restaurants - A lovely local family owns and runs the hotel, they are super friendly and helped us go to the best restaurants in town, find little hikes and experiences to make the most of our time in the Cameron Highlands *We needed to work out how to get from KL to Cameron Highlands and from Cameron Highlands to Penang by car. We emailed the hotel, and it worked out that one of the owners could help drive us. For an affordable price, we then spent the next day and a half with him. First from KL to Cameron highlands, learning all about Malaysian culture, stopping for wild durian on an epic drive through the jungle. Then a private local tour through the tea plantations, lunch at his favourite Indian restaurant in town, an amazing jungle trek to a peak overlooking Cameron Highlands, a visit to the Buddhist temple and refreshments overlooking the golf course. He recommended sunset on the rooftop of the hotel and dinner in town and both were amazing. We were taken in by a local and it was so special. The next day he offered to take us on Penang and we jumped at the offer. On the way we stopped in Ipoh at another Buddhist temple built into caves and a mountain. Incredible. And local delicacies in the cultural old town.

Nanalacy Homestay ISLAM SAHAJA terletak di Tanah Rata dan menawarkan taman dan restoran. Apartmen ini menawarkan penginapan dengan balkoni. Quiet environment, probably because it was on weekdays. There are some good restaurants, at the ground floor and nearby. And, a small groceries shop at the next apartment building.

Big room for 4 people, 2 double beds, lovely big bathroom and facilities for a hot drink and a fridge. Right on the beach so great for a swim and you can have a short walk to the restaurants by road or beach. Firefly office is very close. We really enjoyed our short stay here. We are a family, 2 adults & 2 teen children.
