During our trip through Nicaragua, this accommodation in Las Peñitas was by far the best. Everything was thought through down to the smallest detail and simply breathtaking—you can immediately feel how much love, passion, and professionalism have gone into this place. The pool was spotless at all times, and the garden area was very idyllic, quiet, and inviting—a perfect place to unwind and relax. The proximity to the beach is unbeatable: only about 15 meters on foot, at most 30 meters across the street—you really can’t get any closer. The restaurant was an absolute highlight and felt more like a gourmet restaurant than a typical hotel kitchen. The paella in particular was simply phenomenal. Here, too, you immediately notice the high standards of quality. The staff were consistently attentive, present, and very warm without ever being intrusive. The owners themselves are incredibly kind, helpful, and extremely knowledgeable. They keep an eye on everything and take great care of their guests with genuine dedication. The rooms were perfect: there were two different soaps (a fruity hand soap at the sink and a separate shower soap), as well as two different pillow firmness options—one soft and one firm—so you could choose what suited your neck and sleeping comfort best. The beds were neither too hard nor too soft, not worn out at all—simply perfect. Everything felt like new and was impeccably clean down to the last corner. We also really appreciated the additional amenities: yoga mats could be borrowed to enjoy a private yoga session above the restaurant in complete peace. There were also hammocks available for guests to use freely—pure relaxation. Another big plus were the organized tours: excellently planned, with English-speaking guides, pick-up directly at the hotel, and return transport included. Our stay at Puesta del Sol was amazing! We enjoyed the beautifull and clean rooms. The swimming pool was refreshing and the Italiaan food was amazing.

A very warm welcome from Roger and Selina who were always around to give helpful advice or just a chat about our day. The whole place was super clean ! With 9(?) rooms there was a friendly but not noisy vibe. The kitchen was well equipt and so cooking meals was easy. Coffee was brewed was provided for free around breakfast time . The WiFi was excellent . Comfortable communal sitting area with hammocks . Very good location close to the cathedral. We paid extra for A/C in our too was it was really hot in Leon. I would highly recommend this place to stay.

The entire staff was friendly and helpful, always greeted us with a smile during our 10 day stay. The owner Silvana was an amazing hostess, quick.to.offer tips for dining out, day trips. Etc. She organized our transportation and a tour of the Juan Venado Nature Preserve. The entire venue was always spotless, the room was just right and comfortable and a good price for the room, food and drinks. We enjoyed the quiet relaxing atmosphere and gazing at the ocean every day.

The courtyard garden, hallways, sitting areas and pool are all inviting with plenty of art and antiques. Service is excellent starting with reception through to the restaurant and housekeeping. Our courtyard-facing room was spacious, comfortable and well-appointed. Breakfast overlooking the courtyard garden is good. The hotel is situated in the center of town just steps away from Leon’s many interesting sites and good restaurants.
