We have visited Laguna de Apoyo a few times in the past, and have stayed in different hotels. San Simian was a lot better than the others. It had access to everything we needed, AND it was a lot more quiet, it had lots of shade and beautiful gardens. There is a hike to the Catarina Mirador 100 m away from the hotel, which was a bonus. You wake up every morning with the sounds of monkeys, birds, squirrels and a beautiful view of the water. You can order a coffee thermos and have it ready for you when you wake up in the morning, before breakfast, so you can enjoy it in your room or in the hammock outside your room, or by the lake. The shower in the cabin we stayed in was open concept. What a lovely experience to take a shower under the stars! There is always warm water, which is a plus in Nicaragua The food is delicious, the staff are friendly and extremely helpful. Daniel, the server is always ready to help with whatever you need. Daniel, the owner is amazing, He has lots of great information about the area, and about other places to stay in Nicaragua. He is always making sure that you are well taken care of, and he takes great care of his staff. We are already planning out next stay at San Simian. Can't recommend it enough!

Super nice home stay in Masaya. The rooms are very comfortable - good size, comfortable beds and aircon for hot days. It is easy to walk into town from this location where there are lots of good restaurants. The owner helped us understand what a good amount is to pay for taxis and also helped us when we forgot our watch! The breakfast and coffee each morning was a great bonus as well

The hotel was set in large landscaped grounds with the rooms spaced apart from each other. There was a swimming pool with a bar area and a restaurant. The room was very luxurious and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and attentive.

A stunning, totally original location on the lagoon. All of the little details were so well thought out- all designed to increase the comfort and enhance the stay for the guests -from the super cool furniture and artwork to the comfortable bed and linens to the goodies left in the fridge for us. Simply wonderful!

This was our second time at Pacaua Lodge. We love the hotel, the location, the pool and the amazing view of Apoyo Lagoon. The rooms are super nice. We had booked the suite this time around, simply wonderful. The food and drinks are excellent, too!

Quiet, but also offered many activities on site.
