Our bungalow was right on the water where my wife and I watched the sunset from our bed. The area is lush and tropical with several species of plants and fruit trees. Great bird and duck watching. There's a bar here and a kitchen for preparing food. There is power and wifi. All our needs were met and we highly recommend. Perfect place for nature enthusiasts.

Featuring mountain views, El Güis hostel provides accommodation with patio, around 12 km from Maderas Volcano. There is an on-site restaurant and free private parking. Very friendly family. Always helpful. There is a kitchen which you can use for a fee for the gas ($3).They have filtered drink water available which saves some bottles and money. The house is located off the main road in a very calm environment. Very good to relax but still close to some restaurants. We rented a scooter here, which was delivered to the property and in good condition.

La Urraca Loca Hostel has a garden, terrace, a restaurant and bar in Balgue. Featuring barbecue facilities, the property is located within 12 km of Maderas Volcano. I fell in love with Ometepe and this ended up being the perfect spot. Wonderful people, wonder place and a great price. A special mention to Luis at the hostel. I forgot to collect my passport after handing it as security on my quad bike and he done some digging for me to find someone who could bring it safely to Granada for me. Excellent service throughout. I just know i will be back. I have a friend visiting soon and i will no doubt recommend he stays at this location.

Family run business with a big heart and full engagement of all family members. Friendly and helpful staff. Delicious food and hot chocolate. Beautiful location with big garden and view on the lake. Beds are comfortable and it’s very clean. Calm and great place to take rest.
