Situated within 14 km of Eidsborg Stave Church in Vistad, Vidsyn Midjås offers accommodation with seating area. This campground features free private parking and a shared kitchen. This was such a unique property—very remote, yet close to the nearby town of Dalen. The kitchen was well equipped and we made dinner (there were four of us staying in the two cabins) and foraged for mushrooms and berries at the hosts encouragement and guidance. We also utilized the breakfast items and our leftovers to make omelettes in the morning before we left. We used the amazing sauna and small pond on the property in the evening. The beds were comfortable, bathrooms were great and the sunrise was unbelievable. The mirrored cabins are not to be missed. We spent a LOT of time taking photos!

Boasting a sauna, Lakeview Vrådal Hyttegrend is situated in Vradal. The property features lake views. Very nice cabin with a great view over the nother part of Lake Nisser into the valley of Vråvatn. The cabin was very comfortable with a lot of space. We could even charge our electric car directly at the cabin. When we tried this the first time, the wallbox didn't work but that was fixed by our friendly host already on the next day!

Amazing view, amazing use of space in the apartment. Clean, well designed and decorated, amenities in great shape. Quick drive to Gaustatoppen and town. Nearby diskgolf. Modern appliances.

Set in Tuddal, 12 km from Gaustatoppen, Tuddal Høyfjellshotel offers accommodation with a fitness centre, free private parking, a garden and a terrace. We loved absolutely everything about this gem of a property: the location in a stunning natural environment, the adorable staff, the unique history and decor of the hotel full of collectible and heirloom furniture and, of course the wonderful dinner. Food certainly was a highlight as this is generally where Norway fails to impress us. We were served a fresh, creative, and delicious dinner in the beautiful dining room overlooking the fjell. The chef even adjusted the menu for the vegetarians among us, creating genuine new dishes for us. Wow! Again, that was unexpected as eating veg in Norway is often a challenge. Everything felt authentic and personal in this independently-run property. Dinner starts with a presentation of the history of the place by the owner, their struggles during Covid and how they overcame them. Charmingly, this introduction included the reading of a poem (sadly we don’t understand Norwegian so had to rely on the translation of the presentation afterwards). Every effort is made to be sustainable : There’s a vegetable garden, the delicious bread is baked on the premisses (we took a box of the amazing Flatbrød with us) and the lovely shop sells some local cheese, honey and other specialties including, this being Norway, sweets :) We are already dreaming of a next stay to the Tuddal Høyfjellshotel to experience more of its magic and of the stunning nature around it as our stay this time was way too short. Note to the owners: stay as you are, you are a genuine gem and the world needs more places like yours. Thank you for everything!

Situated in Flatdal, 43 km from Heddal stave church, Nutheim Gjestgiveri features accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace. Staff was super friendly, place was very beautiful and clean, and food was excellent. The views and surrounding areas are breathtaking. By far, this is the best place that we’ve stayed in Norway; strongly recommend it!

Tämä Hjardalin maaseudulla sijaitseva majoituspaikka on tunnin ajomatkan päässä Telemark-kanavasta ja Gaustatoppen-vuoresta. Lovely B&B. Beautiful breakfast. Lovely hosts. Spotlessly clean. Basin in room. Handy option for an evening meal. Nice walks in the area. They allowed us to park the motorcycle in a closed shed.

Loved my stay at Solheim Overnatting! The host was incredibly kind and polite, making me feel welcomed from the moment I arrived.
