This was such a unique property—very remote, yet close to the nearby town of Dalen. The kitchen was well equipped and we made dinner (there were four of us staying in the two cabins) and foraged for mushrooms and berries at the hosts encouragement and guidance. We also utilized the breakfast items and our leftovers to make omelettes in the morning before we left. We used the amazing sauna and small pond on the property in the evening. The beds were comfortable, bathrooms were great and the sunrise was unbelievable. The mirrored cabins are not to be missed. We spent a LOT of time taking photos!

Objekt Gaustatoppen Lodge - Mountain View - Gaustablikk nalazi se u gradu 'Rjukan' u regiji ‘Telemark’ te sadrži balkon i pogled na planinu. The apartment was in a fantastic location with the most amazing view of Gaustatoppen. You wake up with the best view and walk out to the veranda to take your morning tea/coffee. The whole place was impeccably clean and the fixtures and fittings are not only of top quality but extremely tasteful and comfortable. The host Hernrik was extremely accommodating and responsive, and the location is perfect for all outdoor activities. We would stay here again in heartbeat.

Objekt Tuddal Høyfjellshotel nalazi se u gradu 'Tuddal', na 12 km od znamenitosti Planina Gaustatoppen, te nudi smještaj koji sadrži fitness centar, besplatno privatno parkiralište, vrt i terasu. We loved absolutely everything about this gem of a property: the location in a stunning natural environment, the adorable staff, the unique history and decor of the hotel full of collectible and heirloom furniture and, of course the wonderful dinner. Food certainly was a highlight as this is generally where Norway fails to impress us. We were served a fresh, creative, and delicious dinner in the beautiful dining room overlooking the fjell. The chef even adjusted the menu for the vegetarians among us, creating genuine new dishes for us. Wow! Again, that was unexpected as eating veg in Norway is often a challenge. Everything felt authentic and personal in this independently-run property. Dinner starts with a presentation of the history of the place by the owner, their struggles during Covid and how they overcame them. Charmingly, this introduction included the reading of a poem (sadly we don’t understand Norwegian so had to rely on the translation of the presentation afterwards). Every effort is made to be sustainable : There’s a vegetable garden, the delicious bread is baked on the premisses (we took a box of the amazing Flatbrød with us) and the lovely shop sells some local cheese, honey and other specialties including, this being Norway, sweets :) We are already dreaming of a next stay to the Tuddal Høyfjellshotel to experience more of its magic and of the stunning nature around it as our stay this time was way too short. Note to the owners: stay as you are, you are a genuine gem and the world needs more places like yours. Thank you for everything!

Lovely B&B. Beautiful breakfast. Lovely hosts. Spotlessly clean. Basin in room. Handy option for an evening meal. Nice walks in the area. They allowed us to park the motorcycle in a closed shed.
