Located in Bocas del Toro, a few steps from Bluff, S Boutique Hotel provides accommodation with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a garden and a shared lounge. Our stay at this boutique hotel on Isla Colón was absolute perfection. Nestled between the jungle and the sea, right by the gorgeous Playa Bluff (not ideal for swimming but stunning nonetheless), the setting is pure paradise. With only 10 rooms, the hotel offers a peaceful, intimate vibe. Our spacious room featured a large, comfortable bed and a private balcony — waking up to the sounds of howler monkeys and birds was unforgettable. The swimming pool was perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. The service was excellent — the staff was warm, welcoming, and attentive throughout our stay. The food was delicious, making it tempting to dine in often. It’s about a 30-minute drive from Bocas Town, so I’d recommend having a taxi contact handy. One of our highlights was renting ATVs to explore the island — an amazing way to see more of the area (including the incredible beach “La piscina”) All in all, a 10/10 experience. If you’re looking for tranquility, nature, and a bit of luxury, this place is a hidden gem.

Located in Isla Colón, Akwaba Lodge Island Boutique Hotel offers beachfront accommodation 1.6 km from Red Frog and provides various facilities, such as a garden, a bar and a shared lounge. Akwaba lodge is located at the middle of Isla Solarte about a 10 minute boat ride ($10/person) from Bocas del Toro. It is on a hill overlooking the water and Isla Bastimentos Breakfast is included in your stay. Lunch dinner and beverages are available at a very reasonable price. The lodge is an eco style lodge surrounded by jungle. Though there are no hiking trails through the jungle you are serenaded by the sounds of birds. Kayaks, SUP and snorkeling equipment is available for your use. Your host and their children are wonderful and will do anything to make your stay a pleasant and wonderful experience. Things to know, the lodge is off the grid with good WiFi and does not have AC, but we were comfortable with our open windows and ceiling fan. The lodge accepts credit cards, but tours and water taxis are cash only so bring US dollars. Side trips to Red Frog Beach and Green Acres Chocolate are a must. Pack insect repellent and anti-itch cream.

This lodge is a hidden treasure of Bocas del Toro. It is situated on beautiful Isla Solarte, a bit away from parties and resorts, which is a good thing, because it allows you to feel connected with the beautiful island and the wonderful jungle surrounding this lodge. Prepare for total immersion in nature while sleeping in beautiful bungalows equipped with nets preventing any insects from biting you, while still experiencing the immersion. This lodge is still well-connected with a water taxi to other islands, so you will spend your day discovering wonderful beaches while meditating with birds and other animals during the rest of the day. This lodge also has a restaurant preparing top meals, so you won't need to jump to water taxi to Bocas Town just to eat something. Their meals are top quality and very original. There is a small area of sea reserved for snorkeling and paddle-boarding, with equipment to be rented for free. Amazing! This lodge is run by Meghan and Ryan; they are very friendly and helpful, and you will love them. They will provide all the hints and tips you may need. This lodge is a great fit for anyone who likes yoga and meditation (group yoga lessons on site).

Beautiful setting in the forest. Living in the domes overlooking the jungle and hearing the monkeys. Excellent breakfast and welcoming staff. It is a unique experience and an exceptional concept.

Bird Island Bungalows features an outdoor swimming pool, garden, a terrace and restaurant in Bocas del Toro. With a bar, the property also has water sports facilities. This locale is not for everyone. You are in the jungle and off the grid 100%. The road to enter is a 20 min dirt road. That said we had a spectacular time. The location is so beautiful!! The staff are genuine, friendly and so helpful. The cabin we stayed in was beautiful a great view of the Oceqm and the Jungel around us. The staff were very helpful to arrange excursions. The pool delightful, the lookout a great vantage point. One reminder, maybe pack a light blanket. It can get cool at night and you have a one sheet and a single light throw in the room. We made due with our towels for extra layers. So happy we ventured to this true island paradise.

Location was great to everything else in town. It was right by the ocean. The restaurant was great. The staff was super amazing and always smiling and looking to help even if we weren't paying customers at the restaurant, They had free beverages. They stocked by beer in their fridge. They allowed us to store our luggage for half a day after we had already checked out of the hotel. Just exceeded expectations whole heartedly. I have never seen any hotel do that for me ! Situated within a few steps of Istmito and less than 1 km of Y Griega Beach, Santuarios del Mar provides rooms with air conditioning and a private bathroom in Bocas del Toro. Perfect location just at the edge of town, within walking distance or a quick $1 cab. Morning coffee on the dock overlooking the ocean was beautiful, our apartment was spacious and bed very comfortable, AC in every room and a gorgeous view of Saigon Bay.
