LE FARE BLEU Tiputa Rangiroa is a recently renovated homestay in Tiputa, where guests can make the most of its free bikes and garden. Everything. Emmanuelle, the host, is just the best. Right from before I arrived, she advised on getting to the place, the practicalities, the expectations. Then, she arranged for me to be met, taken to the quay, & met me at the other side to take me to the beautiful house, showing me, on the way, the way points to navigate to it. And what a beautiful house! Next to the lagoon, with wide verandahs to relax on. All the facilities you need. Kayaks, bicycles, snorkels, etc, all available for your use, freely. Lovely breakfasts arrive each morning. And dinner, by arrangement, should you wish. The house is airy & light, spacious & bright. I said it was my favourite place I'd stayed at on my extensive travels - & I meant it. I recommend Le Fare Bleu without hesitation.

Set in Avatoru, Vahaui Paradis offers accommodation with a solarium and an open-air bath. The property features sea and garden views. On the ocean side which brings ocean breeze! Relief from heat and mosquitoes! Beautiful view, relaxing. Very clean, comfortable and well equipped bungalows. Great coffee! Walking distance to shops and restaurants and takeaways. Bring a torch for walking back at night. 2 minutes walk to the lagoon. Bikes for hire close by but Pierre and Motire are happy to help out transport wise if you need a lift somewhere or want to go further afield. They were great hosts. Their place is close to the Tiputa diving pass, where you can also watch dolphins jumping. Sunrise on the ocean side and incredible sunsets on the lagoon side. And don’t forget to look up at the stars. Incredible. I can highly recommend this place.

Situated in Rangiroa, Rangiroa Te Manuia Lodge features accommodation with access to a garden. This property offers access to a patio, free private parking and free WiFi. Extremely comfortable accommodation, which was planned and built by my host. So amazing to have aircon and a beautiful power shower. Everything is new and spotlessly clean. Very comfortable bed and the best pillow in French Polynesia! Very quiet, peaceful location. Just 2 minutes walk through palm trees to a most stunning beach, which is actually next to probably the most expensive hotel in Rangiroa! Very kind, considerate hosts. Upon arrival I was festooned with a garland of sweet-smelling flowers. That evening, my hosts and their daughter presented me with a very welcome bowl of fruit and a plate of smoked fish. There is also fresh drinking water available. One evening I was dropped off in the dark at the wrong location by the dive company. A quick message to my host and he came and picked me up. Another day he invited me to come to the harbour with him to see the visiting nurse sharks. To our amazement a huge hammerhead also paid us a visit! After checkout I had a 4 hour wait which I was able to spend on the terrace under cover from the fierce sun. It was magical to spend time in one of the swinging chairs. My host promised me that he would say goodbye to me at the airport. True to his word, he suddenly appeared just as I was about to board the plane.

We stayed 4 nights and the host helped us with the excursion and the car rental when we needed it. The location was perfect to get to the scuba diving place.
