We had an amazing experience at Sambora - excellent staff that went above and beyond to ensure we had a great stay, very cosy room with open fire lit every night, and 10/10 breakfast and dining options. Amazing large tent with power points and good lights with brick bathroom and hot shower; beautiful views over many volcano peaks; safe well driven airport transfer; super helpful friendly staff who arranged for wet muddy clothes to be washed, walked down to the museum with us and took us on a scenic walk locally. Bring good waterproof hiking boots, waterproof jacket and trousers and warm gear for hiking in the mountains to be better prepared than we were having come from hot places.

The resort met all my expectations and I was impressed with my stay. The welcoming was superb. I was offered an upgraded superior room which was super clean and specious with great amenities. The food was what i expected and the indian Chef Mr Vinod did a great job in preparing my vegetarian meal. All staff were super friendly and everything was taken care of. I will definitely return to stay at Virunga Inn.
