We had our own little house, spacious enough, hot water in the shower with good pressure, a kettle in the room. The garden is lovely, there were lemons, tangerines, roses, other flowers and pomelo in January. The owner and his wife were very welcoming and kind, they explained some interesting things about the garden when we asked, and called us to watch how dates were being picked in the neighboring plantation, which was really interesting! We pre-ordered set dinner (lamb as the main course) for 55 TND, it was cooked by the time we arrived around 8, tasty and good value for money. For breakfast, they served "deglet nour" dates from their plantation, very interesting to try. There's a shop where they sell dates from the plantation and date-based products such as date seed "coffee".

The apartment is in the heart of the town, making it easy to walk anywhere. The location was even better than we hoped. The apartment itself was large, clean, and had everything we needed. The beds were very comfortable, and the space felt open and welcoming. The host, Faoizi, was on another level. He was always ready to help and kept in touch with clear communication. One evening, we joined him at his café to watch the World Club Cup semifinal, which made us feel part of the community. The highlight of the stay was the 4x4 sunset jeep tour into the Sahara. It felt real and unique. We enjoyed Berber food cooked in the desert and over a cup of traditional tea while learning about local life. We arrived in Douz as guests but left feeling like friends.
