Located in Kaohsiung and with Formosa Boulevard Station reachable within 2.8 km, TAI Urban Resort provides concierge services, non-smoking rooms, an outdoor swimming pool, free WiFi throughout the... Our decision to choose the TAI Urban Resort as our base for exploring southern Taiwan was spot on. It was one of our favorite hotels so far. The hotel is within walking distance of the MRT and also the LRT, a tram line that circles the city center. For some sights, we simply took a taxi or booked a tour with a private driver. These five nights in a large, Japanese-style room were impressive. A lovely sitting area with a view, large, comfortable beds with high-quality linens, and beautiful lighting. The arrangement with the bathroom area not being completely separate seemed a bit unusual in the photos, but we found it practical and wonderful in person. There is also a separate toilet and a separate shower room. What was unusual for us was that there wasn't just breakfast, but a combination of breakfast and brunch. Guests can choose whether to visit the restaurant floor early in the morning or wait for brunch time. The buffet is open continuously until 2 pm and offers a great international food selection. A fantastic solution for guests with different needs. In the evening, a dinner buffet is offered in the same location. The layout is a bit unusual, as the stylish lobby is on the 25th floor, and after check-in, you take the elevator down to the guest room floors. Also worth mentioning is the 50-meter-long pool in the upper quarter of the building. The view of the city from there is spectacular, and the view while swimming through the glass bottom, 100 meters down to the ground, is even more spectacular, if not a little awe-inspiring. This hotel lists Chinese as their language. We found English was working well, too.

InterContinental Kaohsiung, an IHG Hotel provides accommodation with 4 on-site restaurants, 1 bakery, and 1 lounge bar. Competent friendly staff that (mostly) spoke English well. Concierge team were particularly helpful. Very high service levels, and good value given all of that. The room was incredibly well-equipped all round.

I recently celebrated my birthday weekend at H2O Hotel in Kaohsiung, and it was an experience I will cherish forever. From the moment we arrived, the hotel surpassed all expectations with its exceptional service and luxurious ambiance. The staff at H2O Hotel were nothing short of amazing. Despite only mentioning my birthday during the booking process, every staff member seemed to know and went out of their way to make the day special. Their warmth and attentiveness created a welcoming atmosphere that made us feel truly valued. The highlight was a surprise birthday celebration, complete with a delicious cake and a heartfelt rendition of “Happy Birthday,” making me feel like a VIP. The ambiance of H2O Hotel is both sophisticated and inviting. Every detail, from the elegant décor to the relaxing atmosphere, contributed to a sense of tranquility and luxury. The rooms were immaculate and thoughtfully designed, offering a perfect blend of comfort and style. The attention to detail in the room’s amenities was evident and added to the overall experience. The food at H2O Hotel was absolutely mouth-watering. Each meal was a delightful journey for our taste buds, showcasing a variety of exquisite dishes. The dining experience was elevated by the courteous staff and the beautiful dining spaces, making each meal a memorable event. The pool bar at H2O is an exceptional spot, embodying a sense of elegance and class. Although we received coupons for the pool bar, we found ourselves enjoying the ambiance so much that we didn’t even use them. The setting was perfect for a relaxing evening, with stunning views and a chic atmosphere. A testament to their outstanding service was when I realized, after arriving in Taipei, that I had accidentally left a favorite T-shirt in my room’s wardrobe. The hotel staff promptly called me and graciously offered to send it to Taipei. This gesture truly exemplified their commitment to guest satisfaction and their attention to detail.

450 metres from Liuhe Tourist Night Market, Greet Inn is situated in Kaohsiung and offers free WiFi. The hotel features a fitness centre and a 24-hour front desk. The room was very clean and the location couldn't be better. They even had parking. The best thing of all has to have been the staff. They were polite, efficient and professional. The most hospitable hotel staff I have encountered in a long time.

Everything was exceptional but our favourites were the heated 25m pool and the staff. We could not have been looked after more attentively, thank you.
