My stay at Wycliffe’s place was absolutely wonderful. He is a calm and gentle gentleman who welcomes guests with true hospitality. Above all, I highly recommend trying his food! It was the best food I had in Uganda ✨ The seasoning was perfect, and even now I still wish I could eat it again. Wycliffe always prepared a campfire and delicious tea, which created such a warm and welcoming atmosphere at the lodge. Thanks to him, the entire stay felt very relaxed and comfortable. He also introduced food and tours at reasonable prices, and kindly arranged boda-boda transportation, so it was easy to access from Kabale town. With the beautiful lake and the lovely lodge, you can truly relax and enjoy your time here. Thank you so much, Wycliffe! From the moment I made the booking, I already received a warm response from the Edward. He contacted me immediately and made sure my transportation was perfectly arranged. When I arrived in Kabale, he was there waiting for me together with Oris. Such incredibly kind people. They took me to the boat and arranged the boat ride to the beautiful accommodation. Upon arrival, I was welcomed by friendly staff, including the cheerful chef, who cooked an absolutely delicious meal for me — truly the best meal I had in Uganda. I will never forget it. The cottage and the houses are beautifully located with a stunning view over Lake Bunyonyi. The cottages are extremely clean, and the view you have from there is simply amazing. Edward and Oris also took such good care of me on my return journey, making sure I got back safely and helping me throughout my transport and travel. Edward and Oris, people like you are the reason I travel. You are incredibly kind and have truly good hearts. I wish you all the very best, and I enjoyed every single moment of my stay with you. We are two young women and we stayed at the Ruhija Gorilla Guest house for one night and then tracked with the gorillas the next day but we would have stayed longer! Our room was fantastic, spacious, clean and with two big comfortable beds. The dinner they cooked for us was great and Cylia is careful to fulfil your every wish. Before dinner we visited the village (an experience not to be missed) we met the local people and visited the school and the orphanage; all the people are extremely kind. We really enjoyed our stay at this lakeside hotel. The location is beautiful, right on the lake, with direct access to the water. It is very quiet and peaceful, perfect for relaxation. It is also a great place for birdwatching. The food was excellent, with fresh ingredients and great flavors. We had electricity, hot water, and reliable internet throughout our stay without any issues. A special mention goes to the avocado salad, which was the best we have ever had. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for comfort, nature, and a relaxing atmosphere.
