It was the best accommodation I stayed at during my trip to Alaska. I really liked that I didn’t have to meet the host in person to check in — I just received a passcode and let myself in. It was great not having to worry about what time I’d arrive. The place had everything I needed—fridge, microwave, oven, TV, and coffee maker. The bathroom was spacious and stocked with shampoo, body wash, and conditioner. For breakfast, there were snacks and Pop-Tarts available, which made for a simple yet satisfying start to the day. The location was also great—there’s a gas station right in front and a grocery store within a kilometer. Everything was perfect, and the value for money was outstanding. You can tell the host has put a lot of thought into making guests feel comfortable. If I ever need a place to stay in this area again, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend or return here.

Our stay here was an absolute highlight of our trip! The room was cozy and comfortable, and everything was sparkling clean. Sondra was incredibly friendly and helpful, going out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed and offering great local tips (including how to get a deal on pizza!) Breakfast was phenomenal—honestly on par with a high-end brunch at a nice restaurant, and such a great deal. We loved sitting down with other travelers, swapping stories about our trips and getting inspired for our next stops. The bathrooms were VERY well stocked with top-quality toiletries—even things I didn’t realize I might need. It was such a thoughtful touch and made the stay feel extra special. And we have to mention the backyard chickens! Watching them from our window was such a joy, and knowing the eggs on our breakfast plates came from those very chickens made everything feel so fresh and personal. From the fresh eggs to all the little thoughtful details, SunStar captured the spirit of what makes staying at a bed and breakfast so special. We would absolutely recommend it to anyone and can’t wait to come back!

John was an incredible host and greeted us on arrival and showed us around. We rented the apartment above the garage and it was a really big space and super clean. We were just there for a short stay but it appeared to have all the amenities you could ask for. The snacks left for us were a really nice touch. John made us a huge breakfast before we left and that was excellent as well.

All the little touches that made the suite homey, comfortable and welcoming- embroidered towels, fresh flowers, etc! Everything in the suite was beautiful!
