34 km from Mount Washington, The Mulburn Inn is a recently renovated property situated in Bethlehem and features air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi and private parking. The house is incredibly beautiful, spacious, and well-appointed. Dave greeted us as we arrived, showed us to our room (due to an earlier cancellation, he upgraded our room at no additional cost), and took our breakfast order. The room was huge and very comfortable with a large bed, sitting area, and private bath. Breakfast was incredible, hot, and right on time. Options abounded and the dining room was gorgeous (like all the other areas of the house). Location was perfect for our weekend getaway to visit places in Vermont and get some hiking in the Presidentials. The house has very cool history - Thomas Edison originally wired the house and many dignitaries have stayed in the house (Marilyn Monroe and Joe DiMaggio, a few Presidents, etc.). The town is classic New England - one road, super cute eateries, restaurants, and an amazing ice cream shop (we went every night). Pro tip - get to your choice of restaurant early or after 7:30 or so). They don’t take reservations and since they are the only places in town, the waits are 45-60 minutes during prime time hours. But, the food was great everywhere we went.
