I Waitsfield, bare 45 kilometer fra Von Trapp Family Lodge og 4,8 kilometer fra Mad River ligger White Horse Lodge. The folks running this Inn are absolutely amazing. We visited in winter and perhaps were the trouble-makers - always getting into a fix. We got stuck in a parking lot because we arrived shortly after a snowstorm. Guess what? The Innkeepers helped us get unstuck! When our car would not start they helped us jump-start it. We stayed only for a few days but we needed some help every day and they were always there for us - a text away! Best service I have ever received and it felt much more personal than when you stayed at a hotel. My travel companion absolutely loved the number of blankets and pillows offered. Since we are used to staying at hotels where only a sheet is provided we were pleasantly surprised. Here, a proper blanket + a fluffy throw greeted us in the room - very cozy! Outside of the room, there are a few common/shared spaces. One such space is the dining area and a kitchenette. The kitchenette space had a shared fridge, electric kettle, and a microwave. This allowed us to bring some groceries so that we could prepare our lunches and hot tea for the ski slopes. When we stayed the kitchenette was also stocked with paper cups and paper plates, which we appreciated. We had an amazing time and cannot say enough great words about this place and the folks who run it!
