Luan, the owner was incredibly kind and generous during our stay. Even though it was a busy holiday week he made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our trip including booking a bus from Hanoi to Ba Be and back (local busses only can be tricky when you don't speak Vietnamese) and suggested places to visit and rented us a kayak a motorbike at last minute notice. The food at his restaurant is the best we have had in Vietnam and the dorm rooms were clean spacious and quiet. Of you are travelling to Ba Be I highly recommend staying here. The Hua Ma cave is fantastic. I highly recommend checking it out!

Located in Bắc Kạn, Nam Pé Tày Homestay - View hồ Ba Bể features accommodation with air conditioning and access to a garden. The property features lake and river views. Very friendly owner and family. No one was around to receive me, but they told me to let myself in and get comfortable. The dinner was sized for 2-3 people and I was a solo traveler, but it was delicious. The breakfast was also good and both meals were reasonably priced. This is March and the temperature was cold, but the room was cozy with a heater and warm blankets. The only drawback was the booking description states ‘private bathroom’, but they are all shared facilities.

Truly relaxing location. Our hosts were very kind and accommodating. The meals were excellent. The boat trip is very worthwhile, the forest walk very informative and kayaking relaxing. It is also interesting to walk to the nearby ethnic villages.

Ba Be Jungle Houses features an outdoor swimming pool, garden, a shared lounge and restaurant in Ba Be. We loved to be in the nature in a very quiet and elegant space. We loved the dinner with the fire and the barbecue. The pool is amazing in front of the lake. The staff very polite, at your disposal and very nice.
