Pet-friendly hotels and homes in Halifax

It’s our go to property. Always taken care of.

Gorgeous property , excellent staff and so comfortable

Front desk staff is exceptional!

The rooms were well appointed. There were trees outside my window facing the opposite direction from traffic noise.

Modern and clean with an excellent breakfast!!

It’s located in a nice place. This hotel is quite and cozy. The breakfast was amazing ☺️

I stayed there last night, and the property was very clean. The host was very kind and had prepared the room nicely with all the necessary items. The place was quiet, spacious, and overall my family and I really enjoyed our stay.

Very clean, spacious and close to downtown.

Very well run, comfortable, great location.

Beautiful hotel, but location, location, location. Easy walk to all attractions in Halifax.

Perfect, central location in downtown Halifax. The room was very clean and comfortable, and the bathroom was especially nice.

Close to the part of town we were headed for dinner

Great location. Very comfy beds.

A nice vibe, coffee in the lobby in the morning, hot cookies on arrival, friendly staff, the view. Valet parking was very affordable.

So accessible to everything! Love staying here.

The breakfast is ok: I'd give it 6/10. The bread choices are white or wheat - so personally speaking, the breakfasts have only what is essential. The muffins are stale - every single morning, I eat a hard muffin that has the consistency of having been left on in the open about 10 days - the muffins are tasty but have strangely hard crust throughout. I mean - try one, they are hard throughout and it is always that way with your muffins. I have never experienced breakfast at another Best Western like that. Muffins generally have a soft texture like bread. What is most important in a hotel to clients? 1) A comfortable bed, and 2) breakfast and 3) food for later. As a role model for your establishment, the Glengarry in Truro is the best planned Best Western that I have come across, in terms of breakfast. Their breakfast is a 10/10 - there is nothing further they could do - it would please all of their guests. The difference between Chocolate Lake and the Glengarry is that there, they care more about their guest experiences: There is multi-grain bread for people like me who have wheat allergies. There is a little dish filled with chocolate chips and nuts for the yogurt - which is not expensive and makes the experience of breakfast different from home. Glengarry goes way outside - and has someone with a station - and an employee with a small frying pan and a burner and he makes fresh omelettes! Amazing! He has little containers with onions, green pepper, mixed veg, cheese, bacon and he mixes it all up and viola - a perfect omelette. That's why their facility is a 10/10 and Chocolate Lake overall is in my view a 7/10. The breakfast is just ok, so I don't eat in the restaurant because you charge the prices of a 9/10 hotel but I am expecting the same type of food quality as the breakfast choices, so I don't do the restaurant.

Location is great. Dartmouth is on the airport side of the bridge to Halifax, making it easy to get to/from the airport without bridge traffic. Halifax waterfront only 15 minute drive. Staff was AMAZING, so friendly and helpful. Really went the extra mile. Great breakfast. Don't let "continental breakfast" fool you. This is not your typical waffle machine, cereal and frozen omelet hotel breakfast. It's a great spread, including smoked fish and yogurt that's not in a plastic container. Beds were very comfortable. We would come definitely come here again if we're in this area.

Great service. Excellent clean and comfortable room. Free drink at the bar and a great restaurant onsite!

The breakfast staff were AMAZING! They were so kind and helpful with my children. The food was hot and fresh and lots of items to choose from. Coffee was hot and strong. Kids had. Blast in the pool and on the slide. Huge improvement from our previous stay a few years ago.

The room was large, clean and modern.

Always great to have breakfast brought to your room. Gracious hosts.

The property is well maintained, beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Check in and out was smooth and easy and staff was very communicative. I even happened to meet the building owner in the elevator and he was lovely.
