One of our favorite places we stayed across the islands! Spacious rooms, friendly and hospital staff that made you feel welcomed, and a lovely garden area. Walking distance to everything in town and parking for car/scooter if you are exploring other parts of the island.

Panayiota was the perfect host. Our initial ferry was cancelled and she helped us book a backup ferry. The arrival next one arrived a day later with delays and she arranged for local transport to meet us at the port and take is to the beautiful village of Lagada. She even offered to refund the first night we missed. The apartment is beautiful - completely designed by her. The view from the balcony was amazing and the entire property was quiet and well maintained. There is a second apartment that shares the balcony so ideal for a larger group or two families. She’s always available to answer questions on WhatsApp and lives nearby so can handle anything that comes up.

Marco has a complex of 3 homes in the small town of Lagada: his main house and two smaller homes he rents out during the summer. All of them have private entrances and there is plenty of space between them so you are not disturbed by the others. All of the homes are beautifully decorated with contemporary and antique furnishings from Italy and Greece, something the host clearly has put a lot of effort and pride into. Like all villages in Amorgos, there are no roads leading directly to the homes. Instead you park in a central parking lot and walk through the town to the home. It is not a difficult walk but there are some stairs along the way, so traveling light helps. The house we stayed in had a bedroom with a queen bed, bathroom with a shower, and a living room / kitchenette that had two sofas converted to beds for our children. There is also a patio with a dining table near the entrance and a balcony with a dining table featuring a lovely view of the surrounding mountains, Eigiali and a bit of the ocean. Marco (and Massimo!) is an excellent host and was incredibly responsive to any questions or requests we had. He will help with luggage, arrange tours, and if you are lucky, show you his cats and beautiful main home. I think he will accommodate any reasonable request from his guests, they just need to reach out and be proactive in asking. We were incredibly grateful to have someone so welcoming and gracious as our host and it was great getting to know him and his background. We had a small crisis with our children and he was remarkably attentive.
