The staff was extremely friendly, welcoming, and spoke English very well. From the moment we checked in, we got to relax right away and change into Yukatas. The private onsen were fantastic. The meals were phenomenal (both dinner and breakfast the next morning). They were Japanese styled, so strong flavours for breakfast for the average westerners, but I believe they can do western breakfasts as well. Definitely a very relaxing stay.

I had a fantastic stay at Guesthouse Yui! The room was spotless, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything I needed. The host was incredibly friendly and tried her best to help, making me feel like home. The overall atmosphere was warm and inviting. There were restaurants around, very convenient. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Hongu Taisha and would definitely stay here again. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Loved that the home was secluded and in the wilderness. This is for the nature lover that doesn’t want all the bells and whistles. The kitchen was stocked, the rooms had everything you needed and there was WiFi.

Piko is the most hospitable guest house I have ever visited. Yuki San came to take me from the station as I arrived late. She is the sweetest person. Moreover, I had unforgetable time in Yuki's San Izakaya where her mother, former geisha, played taiko and we had lovely karaoke all together. Do not miss out on such oportunity and come to Pico! I should also mention that it is very conveniently located near key attractions and my dear host gave me recommendations for shops and antiques. The flat is spacious and you will have everything you need.

Booked a family room although i am solo travelling due to availability, the room far exceeded my expectations, very spacious, comfortable and clean, cozy sofa with tv on youtube, more than enough amenities to suit your needs, provides free wine and sake with snacks (i did not drink any though) which is a huge plus, slight walk of around 15 minutes from Shingu station, price is very acceptable for what i experienced
