We had a great stay at toranjyo lit, a traditional ryokan house. It is simple but has everything you need and it’s very charming. The staff was also very friendly and helpful, giving us tips how to structure our nioshima/teshima trip and picking us up from the bus stop.

We visited early March and now, after coming back from Japan, we can definitely say that staying at Yota was one of the highlights of our trip. Yota cooked us some amazing food (the food alone made everything worth it), gave us great recommendations and helped us whenever we had questions. We absolutely loved our stay in this unique, beautiful old house. It was incredibly clean and came equipped with everything we could possibly need. The location is fantastic—situated right on a scenic canal and just a short walk to the train station. The town itself is quiet and has a wonderful, slow pace of life that we fell in love with. Sitting in the backyard by the cherry tree was a highlight. We only wish we could have stayed for a month! Highly recommended for anyone looking to slow down and experience the local charm.
