Beautiful clean property, a couple of Km’s out of town, very close to the Ancient city, rooms are very clean with everything you need, the staff here are truly wonderful and really go out out of their way to make you comfortable. We had a lovely stay and can definitely recommend without hesitation. Thank you for your hospitality and even finding us an unused cool box for our tuk tuk, we now have cool drinks wherever we are in Sri Lanka😃 Warmest regards 🙏🏻🫶

Once we left the crowded Colombo we arrived to this magical and relaxing place, surrounded by nature and a few minutes away from Polonnaruwa. The place, the room, the bath, the hospitality and the GREAT host that we had really made our visit worth it. He tooked care of us and for everything that we needed, giving us recommendations, sharing with us delicious meals, inspiring conversations and moments that will remain with us forever. The host, Mina, is exceptionally kind. She wants all her guests to be happy, comfortable and 'well feed'!!! Her cooking is also exceptional. The accommodation is simple, in a good way. The huts were set by a seasonally dry pond within the grounds which attracted nature. We saw Otters, fabulous birds and bats. It was easy to rent bikes as soon as we arrived. The entrance to the ruins are reached by a 4km lovely canal side lane, ideal for biking. The lane passes a huge rice paddies at one point and local people wash clothes and take an afternoon swim in the canal. We saw kingfishers along there, a monitor lizard having a swim and a kite early in the morning. The accommodation is next to an exit for Polonnaruwa half way through the site which you can exit from for a midday break and return into if you have your ticket stamped as you exit. You can't exit another gate and go in this one however. Breakfast and rice and curry dinner at Clay Hut Village are very tasty and plentiful while more expensive than usual budget prices.

4 points because the staff was friendly and drove me for 4500 rupies through the archeological sites. Also the bathroom was ok (hot water didn't work) and the mosquito net above the bed prevented me from bites.

The staff are so welcoming and kind, they really want you to have a wonderful stay. The welcome drink was the best homemade lemonade we've ever tasted! The accommodation is clean and light, and the garden is full of nature. Close to the town and restaurants. We chose not to do the ancient ruins in the end due to the expense, but it was worth coming to Polonnaruwa just to meet these lovely people!
