"Podi Hoona? More like 'Podi WHOA!' I spent a day there, and honestly, I think my spirit animal is now a happy little tree frog. The place is so gorgeous, I started writing poetry... bad poetry, but poetry nonetheless. The accommodation? Basically, I lived in a fancy, nature-made birdhouse, and I loved it. I'm already planning my escape back there, just hoping the squirrels don't try to charge me rent next time."

So secluded, watering hole opposite hut meant we had our own mini safari all day long with different animals coming along. Staff were incredible, great energy, wonderful with our young children, adjusted menu and timings to suit our kids.

I stayed with Jula and his family for two nights and they were simply lovely. The tree house is located a bit outside of Tissa, so one can enjoy nature and its tranquility. Whenever I needed help, Jula was there. The accommodation is not luxurious, but if it is nature and and a small adventure you are looking for, this is the place for you. They also have an open shower so you can watch the stars while rinsing off.

This was a very authentic safari experience and a must do to those a little more adventurous. The host was great and greeted us with a refreshing drink on arrival, and a concert in the evening. His son was really nice too and chatted to us during meals. The rooms are simple and clean.

A lovely family run business, we felt so welcomed and cared for. It was nice, quiet and the owners are so helpful and kind. The breakfast was simple but nice, exactly what you would expect. Although I must say the eggs were delicious. If you are looking to do a Safari, especially a whole day tour I would highly recommend booking here, as we had the best day. We saw everything we had hoped to except the leopard but that was only due to there being to many other jeeps so we couldn’t see it before it left, this was also the only sighting all day, so there was nothing our guide could have done. Despite this we still had such an amazing day and I would highly recommend as everything was seamless and the breakfast and lunch was amazing, the lunch was far more than you would expect, 10/10. All in all, we had a lovely stay and a great safari tour would. We would 100% recommend. It is also in a good location.

We had a wonderful stay with some truly memorable highlights, though a few areas could be improved. The warm welcome we received on arrival was excellent and set the tone for our stay. The location is perfect, very close to the Yala National Park entrance. The dining experience was a highlight – dinner around the bonfire was magical. The food was delicious, with the soup being especially tasty. Our children absolutely loved toasting marshmallows around the fire in the evening. Waiter Timara was superb – friendly, courteous, and attentive. Tents were comfortable (though not luxurious), and housekeeping serviced them daily. The swimming pool was a welcome spot to cool down after the hot afternoons. A particularly thoughtful touch: after one afternoon safari, we returned to find bowls of warm water waiting to soak our dusty feet – perfect! We enjoyed both the afternoon and night guided walks. The guides were knowledgeable, and these walks were a great way to spend an hour exploring the local wildlife. A charming and comfortable stay with wonderful staff, great food, and thoughtful touches, but with room for small improvements in bedding and linens. The experience of Yala National Park itself may not live up to expectations for wildlife enthusiasts, though the hotel makes the visit as pleasant as possible.
