The views from the rooftop pool, and our room were exceptional, even from a second floor unit. We have stayed at the St. Regis, but the Ancora is a far better value with better views of the ocean. What is most important to me are the views, location and the quality of the rooms. The Ancora met all of the marks. Our room was very beautiful, clean, etc. It’s a little bit of a cross between a hotel and an Airbnb, and so there is no room service, housekeeping, or towel service, but there is a kitchenette and washer/dryer in the unit, which we really appreciated. There’s also food and drink service at the rooftop pool Tuesday-Sunday. I traveled alone with my three kids between the ages of 7 and 12. We did surfing lessons and rented paddle boards at Micttan Surf. The property is right next-door to a small beach, and another larger beach is less than a five minute walk. All of the best restaurants are right along the same strip within walking distance. We went to Pescadero for dinner multiple times.

Everything was perfect!! The setting, the property, the staff, the food, the amenities were all exceptional!! One of my new favourite places and definitely for my kids too!!! The entertainment staff especially Javuer and Aidee were the best!!! The Explorer Club staff were also utstanding! Great hostal, lots of activities are organized and it's easy to meet new people. The location is great, a couple minutes walking to the city cebter and a beautiful ocean view from the rooftop bar and pool. The beds are very confortable and the hostal is clean.
