The approach to the home is spectacular-a long tree-lined drive with overhanging branches leading to a private estate with English gardens. Our bags were delivered before we arrived and the host family had arranged to have them delivered to our apartment. We had the "loft"- a second floor apartment built upon the garage which had also been built out into an apartment. The resident of the downstairs apartment came out to greet us and was a very charming and welcoming hostess. We found the apartment to have all of the amenities we needed and we were quite comfortable, The location on the rail trail was convenient for our travel but required a significant walk to get into town for dinnner.

Offering free Wi-Fi and free on-site parking, Alexandra Heights Motel is perfectly located for walks along the famous Otago Rail Trail.

Well laid out space with enough room to move around and seating area positioned to see the TV which makes for easy living. Lots of equipment in the kitchen and very comfy bed. Quiet location.

Michelle was very nice and helpful. She turned the heater on before we arrived, took us to the bike rentals, and gave us a ride back to the motel. Thank you Michelle for your kindness. The room was spacious and homey. For the price it is a great value. The kitchen got all the necessary stuff to make a meal. The shower was so nice to be in, it was big, the water warmed up quickly, and the shower head is moveable.

This is a wee gem in Alexandra. So quiet!! It was great to stay on a farm again (I'm a farm boy from way back). I loved the Highland beastie posing against the sunset on the hill behind the apartment. The facilities are fantastic. Very clean, and obviously well maintained. I was blown away when I first walked into the apartment. Lots of goodies to nosh on. Many thanks Lauren - I will be back.
