NamibiaWe decided to spend the night at Kwelanga on our roadtrip from Windhoek to Cape Town. Tired from driving over 800 km in a day, we were pleased to find the location of the lodge to be so close to the border post and the highway - it really is conveniently located.
The lodge has a stunning location overlooking the Orange River. We spent sometime on the riverbank admiring the views and were told that the lodge also offers river activities for those who are keen. To our luck, that night was the blue super moon so watching the full moon over the river while sipping on some drinks was really so magical.
The chalet we booked was clean, fully equipped, and very comfortable to stay in. Though we had our own food, we decided to try the pizza and Cathy's homemade chutney which we loved.
However, the best part of our stay was meeting Cathy; she really is a very warm and welcoming host who gives her guests personalised attention. Not only did she make our stay a breeze (even being accommodating of our payment method!) but also gave us recommendations for the remaining leg of our drive to Cape Town.

NamibiaVery friendly staff. Accommodated our needs. Dinner was amazing and we all enjoyed a super evening together. Host was kind enough to pack a take away breakfast as we left early morning. That was just as good. Exceptional value.

I loved the location and how clean the unit was. The unit was decorated beautifully. The tea, coffee, creamer, sugar and the toilet suppliers were a great touch, so grateful for that. The bedding and towels were clean and comfortable.
The pool was refreshing after a long, hot day on the road. Thankful for the freezer space that Cathy arranged for us. We had lots of meat that needed a freezer overnight, their freezer was a huge help...thank you.

Cathy and Aiden are the kindest and most generous hosts who treated us like family. The chalets are clean and spacious and the beds super comfy. We stayed 3 nights and would love to visit again. We really enjoyed the half-day river rafting trip. Manus was a great guide. Excellent value for money!

We had a 1-night stay at the Kwelanga River Lodge before heading to Namibia. This is definitely a place where we could have stayed a bit longer..
We had a nice Pizza and also a delicious breakfast prepared by Cathy and team!
