Featuring a garden and views of city, La Calamande En Ville is a bed and breakfast situated in a historic building in Brussels, less than 1 km from Palais de Justice. Our stay was short but we felt home almost immediately. It's pretty close to the city center; we preferred to walk, which only took 20 minutes. The owner is very attentive, helpful and uncomplicated. The room, bathroom and the common area were very clean and well taken care of. WiFi worked really well throughout our stay. It was all in all very comfortable and enjoyable.

The location is close to the metro station and the bus/tram stops, so you can reach every destination in an easy way. Bozena is a very friendly and accommodating host. Featuring city views, - - - - - Au Sixième Ciel - - - - - provides accommodation with a bar and a balcony, around less than 1 km from Tour & Taxis. The apartment is cosy and equipped with everything you might need. I loved the retro bathroom tiles and cabinet, and especially enjoyed spending time on the balcony. I appreciate the TV programmes from Croatia, and the first aid kit in the bathroom. The problem of the sun waking people up in the morning has also been solved with the addition of a shade that blocks the light at the entrance to the room. Even on hot days, the apartment remained at a fairly moderate temperature without the need for air conditioning. Karim is an excellent, friendly host with a great sense of humour. He provided lots of useful information about the city, its history, interesting places to visit and how to use public transport efficiently. All in all, I would book it again. The location is perfect — it's just a 20–30 minute walk from the city centre, but you can reach it by train in just 5–6 minutes from Brussels Central and 9 minutes from Brussels Midi/Zuid, with trains passing by every 1–5 minutes. Since it's just across the street from Brussels Nord railway station, it's very convenient for reaching the city centre, the south of the city and Schuman station (for transfers to Charleroi Airport and the European Quarter, respectively). The Flixbus station is also next to the Brussels Nord station. Some reviewers mentioned not feeling safe late at night because of suspicious people hanging around the railway station, but that's not true – the same thing happens in the city centre anyway. I was out until around midnight, so I don't know what happens later, but it was just a normal hot summer's evening in a big city with lots of people hanging out outdoors.
