We hiked up with our bags from pilkopaini port so was only 20 mins so not too difficult.

We absolutely loved staying here. The lodge is owned and operated by a local family. They have built a great lodge that is really well taken care of. The view of the lake from the rooms and the property is absolutely stunning. We found time everyday at the property to just sit on the outside chairs to take in the view, read a bit and watch the people go by with their donkeys and produce from their land. The family (Oscar, Sonia, Lis) were super friendly and helpful. They did a great job with breakfast. We loved that they also offered dinner which Sonia, the mother, makes herself. After taking long hikes around the island, we didn't have the energy to go out for dinner. The guestroom is very well done and super well taken care of and clean. We stayed in a family room with a lake view which was very large. The shower had reasonable pressure and hot water. The bed was very comfortable with plenty of blankets and an electric heater for the chilly nights. It is a very steep climb from the boat drop off point to the various lodges. The Utasawa lodge offers donkey service for getting your luggage up the mountain. I strongly suggest you take advantage of it. We thought it was a bargain, particularly after watching everyone with luggage struggling big time to make it up the mountain to the various lodges and hostals. We were sad to leave after three nights. We highly recommend staying here and would definitely recommend to any of our friends if visiting the island.

A Magical Escape with Breathtaking Views Our stay was absolutely beautiful, peaceful, comfortable, and spotless. Although we were delayed by the boat and had to climb what felt like a thousand steps to reach the lodge (a bit of an exaggeration!), the host went out of his way to help—he sent his younger brother to meet us along the way, and he was incredibly kind and helpful. By the time we reached the lodge, night had fallen and the moon was just beginning to rise over the horizon—a massive orange glow that added to the magic of the moment. The views from the lodge were nothing short of breathtaking. It was truly a special and unforgettable experience.

The rooms were very large and modern. The bathroom was large modern and very clean. The room had a heater and the beds had plenty of blankets. The service from the owner was fantastic. And she gave us delicious breakfasts. The hotel is located near the top of the Inca stairs and provides excellent views out over Lake titicaca. It is close to the hiking trails and the main restaurants in the town. Super value at this little hotel.
