You get a gorgeous view. Make sure to get up for sunrise. The hosts are amazing and friendly. The beds are huge and super comfy. I could only get warm-ish water, but it was fine for me after hiking all day. The breakfast was delicious! Amazing bread, freshly squeezed juice and eggs. The dinner was also delicious, get the trout, you will not be disappointed. The wifi is really good. Definitely recommend. Would absolutely come back again.

Amazing stay in la Isla del Sol, the lodge is absolutely perfect, so spacious and cosy, and offers the best views over the lake, the Isla de la Luna and the surrounding mountains. It is also facing the sunrise for an unforgettable morning wake up. The hosts were very kind, and brought us our breakfast to enjoy on the terrace facing the lake. The lodge is owned and operated by a local family. They have built a great lodge that is really well taken care of. The view of the lake from the rooms and the property is absolutely stunning. We found time everyday at the property to just sit on the outside chairs to take in the view, read a bit and watch the people go by with their donkeys and produce from their land. The family (Oscar, Sonia, Lis) were super friendly and helpful. They did a great job with breakfast. We loved that they also offered dinner which Sonia, the mother, makes herself. After taking long hikes around the island, we didn't have the energy to go out for dinner. The guestroom is very well done and super well taken care of and clean. We stayed in a family room with a lake view which was very large. The shower had reasonable pressure and hot water. The bed was very comfortable with plenty of blankets and an electric heater for the chilly nights. It is a very steep climb from the boat drop off point to the various lodges. The Utasawa lodge offers donkey service for getting your luggage up the mountain. I strongly suggest you take advantage of it. We thought it was a bargain, particularly after watching everyone with luggage struggling big time to make it up the mountain to the various lodges and hostals. We were sad to leave after three nights. We highly recommend staying here and would definitely recommend to any of our friends if visiting the island.

Although we were delayed by the boat and had to climb what felt like a thousand steps to reach the lodge (a bit of an exaggeration!), the host went out of his way to help—he sent his younger brother to meet us along the way, and he was incredibly kind and helpful. By the time we reached the lodge, night had fallen and the moon was just beginning to rise over the horizon—a massive orange glow that added to the magic of the moment. The views from the lodge were nothing short of breathtaking. It was truly a special and unforgettable experience.

If you’re thinking about staying on Isla del Sol, YOU HAVE TO STAY HERE! A really lovely guest house! The room I stayed in, looked over the sea and I woke up early to watch sunrise from bed and it was magical!! The beds are really comfy and have lots of blankets to keep you warm as it gets chilly, a basic shared shower, which I thought was cold, until the manager came to turn on the hot water and it was delightful! The owners are really friendly and so happy to welcome you to their place.
