This is now my go-to hotel for whenever business or leisure travel takes me through this part of the world. Fabulously friendly and attentive staff, a super cafe (popular with locals as well as guests: you're going to need to book if you want to have Sunday brunch there...), and very comfy beds with the most comfortable pillows I've ever slept on in a Swiss or German hotel. HIGHLY recommended and worth the price.

Super elegant yet modern rooms. I really appreciated the quiet room on the second floor, which is open 24/7. Service was quick and helpful. Clean bathrooms and showers.

We planned to bring our cat there but changed our mind last minute. They put a food plate for him in the room. It shows how detailed they are.

Steinenschanze Charming City & Garden Hotel is less than 5 minutes' walk from Basel's city centre and the university, close to historical buildings and the old town. Great hotel with very professional and friendly staff. Excellent location, only 5-10 minute walk from most main attractions. We were visiting around Christmas and the hotel's garden was part of the "Magical Courtyards" and beautifully decorated. There was also free filtered drinking water on every floor and free coffee at all times.

The apartment was amazing, spacious, cozy and had everything you might need! The location is also perfect, and even though it’s next to the main train station, not loud at all!
