Rodrigo is a wonderful host!! He met us at the boat dock and walked us to the property, again for a boat tour we had booked, and again when we left. We had bad internet advice and thought there was an ATM in town, so we were unable to pay in cash as he had requested up front. However he accepted our payment by an alternate method (Tilopay) which we appreciated. The property is full of beautiful tropical plants and is very quiet since it’s at the end of the town’s developed area and is right on the boundary of the National Park. We enjoyed watching hummingbirds and spider monkeys from the front porch, and could hear Black and White owls at night. We had wonderful views of Great Green Macaws, Keel-billed Toucans, and two-toed sloths in the town. From the casa you are still handy to restaurants and supermercados and fruterías. The kitchen is equipped for cooking meals, and Rodrigo provides good suggestions if you want to eat out. Don’t miss the Sea Turtle Conservancy at the other end of town! Even if it’s not turtle laying or hatching season, the video and displays are excellent. We really enjoyed a guided canoe tour for the two of us with guide Kendall.

Cahuita Apartment by Angie está ubicado en Cahuita, a 5 minutos a pie de Playa Blanca y a 21 km de Jaguar Rescue Center, y ofrece alojamiento con amenities como wifi gratis y televisión de pantalla... Todo muy nuevo, amplio, limpio y bien equipado. Buena comunicación y contacto con los anfitriones, nos permitieron hacer late checkout para visitar sin prisas el parque nacional, el cual se ubica a escasos 10-15min a pie. Se puede aparcar en la misma puerta sin problema y hay cajero automático y supermercado a 2 calles. Acceso sin contacto, aunque hay que quedar en un momento u otro para pagar en efectivo.

If you want somewhere authentic, in the local village with great hosts Gloria and Sergio, do not hesitate to book here. Very clean, quiet, ideally situated. We did the night walk/boat with Gloria and Sergio which was amazing, definitely worth doing. If you need a taxi boat or want to do a tour of the canals, go through Owen, their friend. The traditional breakfast was delicious.
