The property is around a 10-minute walk from the ferry to the East Bank and offers a lovely balance between a vibrant village atmosphere and a serene, relaxing setting. The villa is clean, comfortable, and well equipped, with all the amenities you might need whether you’re traveling solo, as a couple, or with a small family. The architecture is authentic and beautifully crafted, drawing on vernacular design to create a space that feels both charming and welcoming. Everything feels intentional, and the property truly stands out from its surroundings. What really makes this place exceptional, however, is the hospitality. The caretakers - Bahaa, Ezra, and especially Nasser - are incredible hosts and genuinely wonderful people. They were consistently friendly, attentive, and accommodating, always making sure I felt at home. They helped me like a friend and I am grateful. Room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Hot water running and kitchen was equipped to be used. I would recommend this place also to travelers with friends because there is a nice living room space and rooftop to hang around before bed. The location is walking distance from Luxor Temple which is great to explore the area. I have enjoyed their homemade Egyptian meal on the rooftop. I chose fish and it was flavorful, soft and crunchy. Do try their meal! They have other meals and drinks.

The price and quality relation is very good. The apartment is spacious, but cozy. It's in a small street but close to bigger street with supermarkets etc, also close to Karnak temple. The host is very helpful, willing to organise transport to and from the apartment, and available for communication.

Nour el Balad is an absolute gem tucked away from all the crowds. The guesthouse is a traditionally built home with lovely little details and decorations everywhere, and palm furniture including the beds. The breakfast included is delicious, but make sure to stay for lunch or dinner — the roast duck and molokhiya are absolutely outstanding! Luxor’s restaurant scene isn’t amazing and we ended up eating dinner at Nour al Balad every night of our week-long stay. Abdullah and his team offer warm hospitality and can also help with transfers and taxis as needed. We have stayed there twice now and can’t wait to return!!
