De rustige ligging en het mooie dakterras. Dichtbij de ferry (loopafstand) en winkeltjes. Personeel zeer behulpzaam en vriendelijk. Abdo en Mujahid waren erg begaan en behulpzaam met het geven van tips en het aanbieden van tours voor hele schappelijke prijzen. Ook euro’s inwisselen voor Egyptische ponden of betalen in euro’s is geen probleem. Zwembad ligt hele dag lekker in de volle zon. Extra handdoeken kun je in de lobby krijgen (ook voor het zwembad). Verder heeft de kamer een mooi balkon met prachtig uitzicht en is het ontbijt echt top.

The villa is slightly secluded, away from the traffic and noise along the Nile, which makes a big difference. Mornings are calm and soothing — we wake up to birds singing, and seeing the hot air balloons pass over the villa is simply magical. It’s ideally located close to the temples and the Valley of the Kings, making sightseeing very easy. Getting to the Nile or the city center is simple as well — Mohamed can arrange transport or call a tuk-tuk, which makes the experience even more local and authentic. The house has a true “cosy home” feeling from the moment you arrive. The garden is beautiful and peaceful, especially in the evening. Breakfast is generous and homemade, and the staff are kind and attentive. Mohamed is an excellent host — always available, helpful, and organizing activities at the best seasonal prices. If you’re looking for a quiet, authentic place to stay in Luxor where you genuinely feel at home, this is the perfect choice

Nour El Balad ligt in Luxor, op 14 minuten lopen van Medinet Habu Temple, en biedt een tuin en uitzicht op de stad. Deze accommodatie heeft roomservice, een restaurant, een waterpark en een terras. Nour el Balad is an absolute gem tucked away from all the crowds. The guesthouse is a traditionally built home with lovely little details and decorations everywhere, and palm furniture including the beds. The breakfast included is delicious, but make sure to stay for lunch or dinner — the roast duck and molokhiya are absolutely outstanding! Luxor’s restaurant scene isn’t amazing and we ended up eating dinner at Nour al Balad every night of our week-long stay. Abdullah and his team offer warm hospitality and can also help with transfers and taxis as needed. We have stayed there twice now and can’t wait to return!!
