Situated in Autun, 49 km from Hospices Civils de Beaune, Maison Sainte Barbe has a garden, parking on-site and rooms with free WiFi access. This is a jewel, a beautiful little place tucked away just behind Autun Cathedral (but you can drive to it). It is a B&B, so you get a wonderful breakfast. The host/hostess are extremely courteous and knowledgeable. They sent me on a delightful hike through the town and out into the countryside which was *exactly* what I wanted to do. At the same time, they were perfectly respectful of my desire for privacy. The room was charming and decorated with a bit of "Provencal" colored textiles. If this place is available when you are going to Autun, you should definitely reserve it.

The apartment is charming and spacious, with a functional kitchen. The courtyard is nice for good weather stays. The beds were comfortable. The location is excellent, near the tour horologe and in the centre of the charming town of Avallon. Just a short work to the boulangerie, boucherie, other shops, gardens and the town walls. Avallon is situated in a beautiful part of Burgundy.

Featuring a garden and views of garden, Le Cocand is an apartment set in a historic building in Autun, 49 km from Hospices Civils de Beaune. With city views, this accommodation features a patio. The apartment is very conveniently located, off a gorgeous courtyard right by the cathedral. The host apologised for not greeting us in person, but made herself available had we needed anything. The apartment was clean and very cosy. We would highly recommend following the bakery and restaurant recommendations in the booklet provided!

Located in La Grande-Verrière, Logis Hôtel de la Poste - Chez Cécile features a terrace, restaurant, bar, and free WiFi throughout the property. The cooking was really superb. And everyone was so welcoming.

Boasting a terrace and views of garden, B&B Vassy Etaule is a bed and breakfast set in a historic building in Avallon, 22 km from Vézelay Basilica. This place was really superb. You need a car to get there as it is located just outside of Dijon. It is worth getting a car just to see the place: it is essentially a mansion just outside of a now derelict cement factory that they have artfully and tastefully integrated into their property. The grounds are large, dotted with places to lounge, relax and enjoy. The swimming pool (heated!) is worth using, also because it has been built into the remains of the old factory. The entire estate is tastefully done, with no expense spared. It is no surprise that the breakfast is super, too. Deserves the 10-Star rating and well worth a stay there.

Set in a 18th-century building, Les Glycines Vézelay is a boutique hotel offering accommodation in the heart of Vézelay, a short walk from the central square and the Basilica. Very comfortable beds and rooms, very kind staff, great view, wonderful location, everything was perfect
