Having stayed at another lovely hostel close to the town of Rio Dulce, I would say this end of the river is more beautiful and unspoilt. You can take kayaks out and explore the little mangrove creeks near the hostel or venture as far afield as the Biotopo nature reserve. So many suggestions of fun and interesting things to do you could easily spend a week here!

I called and asked if they would let us check in at midnight and they were happy to have us. When we arrived, they greeted us, showed us to our room, and said we could deal with the paperwork in the morning. When we woke up in the morning, I was astounded by their beautiful location, tranquility around the river, and excellent restaurant. The paperwork was fast and we had a delicious meal before continuing on our journey.I wish we had more time to enjoy their pool and riverfront views.
