Karun (the host) is just super nice and he will make you feel at home at every moment. He booked for me a beautiful boating tour at the sunrise. He was always asking if I need food for lunches and dinners and served me delicious dishes when asked, directly at home. He also lended his scooter to let me visiting around the area. Just the best host I could ask for.

We are so happy we found this place in Alleppey and stayed in home of this wonderful family! I booked the room for just one night, but we liked everything so much that we extended our stay for more 10 days. The atmosphere here is very warm and pleasant, the people are kind and welcoming! We became very close during this time and truly felt like part of the family. We also got to know more about the local culture and traditions, and even celebrated Easter together. I’m very grateful to Francis and Jeeja for their hospitality and the delicious breakfasts — you can feel the love and care in every dish. This is now a special place for us, a place we would love to return to! The rooms are also very nice — clean, comfortable, there is a balcony and terrace in the house. The location is also great. Only 3-minute walk to the beach. There’s also a fantastic restaurant nearby — “Viggy’s Sea-side Resto”. We really enjoyed it.

And of course, Trancy - the sweetest dog and the true heart of the hostel - will happily join you on your walks or curl up for cuddles. All in all, if you’re looking for a stay in Wayanad, don’t bother looking anywhere else :)

We had access to all of the amenities in the house and they provided us with great advice to really enjoy our stay in Varkala. Sharing breakfast with them was great time to talk and learn a bit more about the place and ways to reach our next destination. The level of service was outstanding and they really cared for us during our stay in Madhav Mansion. We would highly recommend it! Boasting a garden and views of garden, Marari Charlys Homestay is a recently renovated bed and breakfast situated in Mararikulam, 200 metres from Marari Beach. There is a private entrance at the bed and breakfast for the convenience of those who stay. The bed and breakfast features rooms with air conditioning, free private parking and free WiFi. Everything! Charlys was far and away the best place I stayed on this trip (and that includes the 4 star hotel in Hyderabad). The room was huge with a big clean bed, wooden table & chairs, and good a/c. The bathroom was big, modern and clean. Seating on the verandah with a view over the garden - the setting is idyllic. The hosts are so friendly, welcoming and helpful, serving a delicious breakfast every day and always smiling. I felt very comfortable and so relaxed here and I will definitely book Charlys again if I return to Kerala.
