This was such an unforgettable experience. We were supposed to stay for just one night but ended up staying 4! Okay, from the beginning. We had different accommodation in Hakuba, but we weren’t satisfied so we were looking for something else and found Dark Horse by chance. The moment we walked into the house, we were greeted with smiles and warmth. Andy, Rika, Momo and Hana create something truly special. We’ve stayed at hundreds of hotels and such, but this one will stay in our hearts for a long time. Everything is well thought out, you can see it’s taken care of down to the smallest detail, you can see it’s done properly and not just to be the cheapest. We felt so beautifully hosted. They also have an amazing sake collection to try, and the food is delicious too. Thank you again and we already miss it. I hope we’ll get the chance to meet again. PS. Hakuba Amber Resort by Jade Group se nachází v destinaci Hakuba a poskytuje bezplatné Wi-Fi, výhled na hory a volný vstup do vířivky. Enjoyed the house for summer for a big group and had a wonderful time! Staff was always quick/available to answer your questions or come by should you needed something. Sauna/onsen was definitely a highlight, along with the ready-to-go BBQ set (extra cost). Would love to come again!

One of the best experiences I have ever had living in such a family running bed and breakfast place. I felt right at home. Nicky and Mary are both welcoming and thoughtful through the whole time. Highly recommended for people who plans to winter skiing or summer hiking around Hakuba area.

The room and the public spaces were always neat. The staff are pleasant and very accommodating. The general vibe was exceptional, including amongst other guests. I’m a solo female traveler and stayed in the mixed dormitory but I had 0 discomfort. The host runs several shuttles in the mornings to drop off patrons in the morning, so we can then take the town shuttle to get to different ski resorts etc, as well as evening shuttles to pick you up from town and take you back to the guesthouse.

The property is beautiful and comfortable. It is a separate private cabin that is attached to the outside of the hosts' home, with your own private entrance, bedroom, kitchen, shower+tub, and toilet . The location is very quiet and peaceful with nice views of the mountainside. You also get your own drying room with a separate heater, which is great for storing and drying ski gear each night. The location is perfect, it is a 1 minute walk away from a shuttle stop with free shuttles to Happo-One, Iwatake, Goryu, and 47. It is a 10-15 minute walk to central Echoland and restaurants. The hosts are great people. They are very kind and helpful. We were able to communicate easily through messaging and Google translate, and they were very responsive. They even offered to take us grocery shopping, got us seats at a good restaurant, and took us to the ski resort one morning. Their dog is cute too. They will make you feel welcome during your stay. We loved our stay and can't wait to come back!

We loved that it was dog friendly ! the resident puppy Gunnar was very cute and very well behaved ! The rooms were great, very comfortable beds ! We also loved sitting and chatting with the managers and staff - they were all very kind and welcoming !

The owner went all out to give me a enjoyable stay ! He picked me up from Hakuba and delivered me back the next morning, showing me the sights along the way. The views from the hotel are breathtaking and the sauna and hot bath are just a bonus. Breakfast was delicious ! Definitely worth a visit ! Highly reccommended !
