The owners were so nice and friendly. The woman speaks good English and they do their best to inform us on the things to do around. The breakfast was just amazing and generous ! Even the house is really cute and comfortable ! You definitely have to come here if you want to visit the area !

Rental villa Gontaya, a property with a terrace, is situated in Takamori, 50 km from Kumamoto Castle, 25 km from Mount Aso, as well as 39 km from KK Wings. Love the wooden structure of the property. It is super spacious, and quiet. The host had provided good direction as to how to navigate to the property, making life easier for me travelling there by car (especially in the dark). The kitchen had all the utensils I needed to prepare a good decent dinner for my family. The host also kindly provided some complimentary gifts for our stays. Thank you.

Hokkoma Aso Private cottage 1棟貸しコテージ南阿蘇, a property with a garden and a terrace, is located in Aso, 35 km from Egao Kenko Stadium Kumamoto, 45 km from Suizenji Park, as well as 46 km from Hosokawa... Exclusive and charming. The wood fire stove was our entertainment :P Mayumi who manages the cottage and the cafe next to it was gracious and ensured we were comfortable. PS: the breakfast AND christmas stollen were delicious!

We didn't walk to the nearby onsen town, but it is walkable (a bit of a hill), and there are many walking trails around the house. This house has a fence for dogs but we didn't travel with pets and found it made a great yard for our kids to play. The onsen bath in the house is great and there is plenty of space.

Located within 24 km of Egao Kenko Stadium Kumamoto and 33 km of Kumamoto Castle, フォレスタ阿蘇車帰 provides rooms in Aso. We spent two nights here as a couple. The staff greeted us kindly and were very accommodating and helpful. The property is beautiful and overlooks Mt.Aso. We decided to use the grill our first night and they set up everything for us and even recommended a store where we could go to buy meat and other supplies. (We forgot to buy grilling utensils, the staff let us borrow some :), but I would recommend bringing your own. The meat was delicious and it paired well with the atmosphere of the property. My husband and I don't speak Japanese really but the staff worked with us to communicate in Korean/English. We had the twin bed room and it was very nice. The beds were comfortable and the air conditioning made it very nice. The room had a bathtub and we took a bath both nights it was so relaxing. The whole cabin had a wonderful woody smell. After dinner we went outside and went star gazing. The night air was crisp and the sky was beautiful. Mosquitos were minimal and the night air was full of the sounds of the forest. We could even see the milky way! We also woke up early to watch the sunrise over Mount Aso right from the deck in front of our room. The view was breathtaking~ Overall I'd highly recommend staying here if you want to experience the Japanese countryside the right way!
