We chose Kikuchi instead of Kumamoto, to get away from the city before our trip to Mt Aso. We got a lovely country house, but the main benefit was the lovely couple who hosted us. Super friendly and helpful. I enjoyed breakfast, my wife skipped hers, so the host packed it as a bento box for our lunch. Vegetables from the garden. A guided visit to the forest to see fireflies. Tastes of local food and drink. It was if we were lodging with my favourite aunt and uncle.

Our hosts Erica and Jo went above and beyond to assist us during our stay.From driving us to a restaurant and on our last morning getting us to our train station . The breakfast was delicious.The garden is magnificent .You simply could not ask for more from a host.

Glamping Village LEAF ligger i Mashiki, bare 5,8 kilometer fra Egao Kenko-stadion i Kumamoto, og tilbyr overnatting med et sesongåpent utendørsbasseng, en hage, en terrasse og gratis WiFi. Stayed for a night to experience glamping in Japan. We reserved a cabin and requested for charcoal bbq (top up a small fee for the charcoal bbq). Love the BBQ right at our glamping unit. They provide vegetables, rice, soup and drinks for bbq, they are self-service and complimentary. Breakfast is also provided by self service too. Staff are helpful and friendly. Really a lovely experience.

I Itoshima, bare 36 kilometer fra Fukuoka Yahuoku! Dome og 36 kilometer fra Fukuoka-tårnet ligger ALFACIO RESORT STAY ITOSHIMA. It was straight out of dreams. Absolutely amazing property. Very clean , quite spacious . Kitchen was perfectly stocked with all the utensils to prepare dishes.Resort staff was very helpful Best part just 5 min walk from station . View is mesmerising from all the rooms. Just perfect .

I Minamioguni, bare 40 kilometer fra Aso-fjellet og 49 kilometer fra Kinrin-sjøen ligger Hanare no Yado Hanagokoro. The Dinner and Breakfast is super delicious, also the staff is really friendly and nice! Private outdoor hot spring is amazing! 24 hour non stop natural hot spring keep the water hot in the bath!

Enokiya Ryokan har en praktisk beliggenhet i Yufuin Onsen i Yufu, 45 kilometer fra Oita stadion, 7 minutters gange fra Kinrin-sjøen og 25 kilometer fra Beppu stasjon. Amazing place, staff is very friendly, private Onsens are very nice, location is amazing. The room was very clean and with beautiful details and the bed was super comfy.

Yufuin-Sanso Waremokou offers large Japanese-style rooms boasting an open-air cypress hot spring bath, sweeping nature and city views and a massage chair. Good traditional Onsen Ryokan with attached private hot bath and great Kaiseki dinner.
