I really enjoyed my stay here. The room was very clean, beautifully decorated with great attention to detail, and I had my own private bathroom. I felt comfortable staying with Nicolas and his family. What makes this homestay truly special is Nicolas deep local knowledge. He knows Pakse, the Bolaven Loop and Champasak extremely well and shared countless tips, including non-touristic places and his own custom maps. This was a huge advantage for my travels and something you rarely find elsewhere. If you’re looking for a place with a personal touch and genuinely helpful local insights, I can highly recommend this homestay.

Boasting air-conditioned accommodation with a plunge pool, mountain view and a terrace, Don Falang Homestay- Private Island & Beach is set in Don Det. Situated on the beachfront, this property has a private beach area, water sports facilities, a garden and free WiFi. Private parking can be arranged at an extra charge. What a wonderful, unique stay this was! We loved Don Falang. It is a small private island on the mighty Mekong that provides everything that one looks for when travelling and exploring. The room is very comfortable with the most beautiful window view you can imagine. The terrace makes you feel you are on the river and from there you can observe the sunrises and the life on the river. Alex and Laymon are the sweetest and the most welcoming hosts. They made sure all our needs and wishes were met. There is a small beach on the island where you can swim or just observe the life on the river. What I will most remember about the island, though are the communal meals with other travellers. Every morning and evening we had fantastic breakfasts and dinners with other guests, exchanged stories and had the most wonderful time. The stay on Don Falang will stay as one of the best memories and the magic moments of our travels to Laos.

Either from the terrace, from a hammock or from the little beach where you could also swim. The staff were super helpful. When the ATM in Nakasong was out of order the owner drove me to the nearest one on his motorbike, no questions asked. Only had to pay for the boat ticket to Nakasong. Truly above and beyond!
