This room truly enhanced my experience on the islands and allowed me to maximize my enjoyment of the surroundings and views. The balcony overlooking the islands and facing the sunset, along with the huge window in the room, brought nature and the stunning scenery right inside, allowing me to enjoy the environment even when indoors. The room itself was spacious, minimalist, and beautiful. Everything was clean, the water was hot, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. Beyond all the comfort of the facilities themselves, I want to praise the hostel owner who was kind and pleasant, available on WhatsApp for any questions or issues, and happy to help with recommendations for trips in the area. You can also rent bicycles through her for exploring the islands - definitely a recommended experience!

Located 8 km from World Heritage Wat Phou, La Folie Lodge offers accommodation overlooking the Mekong River. One of the most beautiful places in Laos - very peaceful and relaxed. The pool and garden space are beautiful and well kept. The staff were great to organize transfer from Pakse to the island, everything went smoothly.

Room was clean and the bed was great. Beautiful view with a hammock. You can rent a bike from a guesthouse close by. I think you’ll need a bike to move around. Don Khone close by and there is restaurants close as well (few min walk) to get breakfast etc.

Nicolas Family Homestay - Mekong Home is a recently renovated bed and breakfast in Pakse, where guests can make the most of its open-air bath and garden. I really enjoyed my stay here. The room was very clean, beautifully decorated with great attention to detail, and I had my own private bathroom. I felt comfortable staying with Nicolas and his family. What makes this homestay truly special is Nicolas deep local knowledge. He knows Pakse, the Bolaven Loop and Champasak extremely well and shared countless tips, including non-touristic places and his own custom maps. This was a huge advantage for my travels and something you rarely find elsewhere. If you’re looking for a place with a personal touch and genuinely helpful local insights, I can highly recommend this homestay.

Coming here feels like beeing invited to the family, or a circle of new friends in a wild garden. You can connect over the shared meals, board games, boule, communal sunset watching every evening. The Hosts Alex and Laymon actively support the initiation of common activities. Still, if you retreat into the cabin, you have privacy. Breakfast is one of the best I had in Indochina, and every Dinner is a unique experience of best authentic Lao food. The private beach is small, but completely sufficient for the small island community. If you feel like going out, someone will bring you over for free in no time. Else you can chill in one of the many hammocks and just let the world flow by.

Set in Ban Donsôm Tai, DON DET Souksan Sunset Guesthouse and The Xisland Riverview Studio offers accommodation with air conditioning and access to a garden. The perfect spot to enjoy the sunset. Either from the terrace, from a hammock or from the little beach where you could also swim. The staff were super helpful. When the ATM in Nakasong was out of order the owner drove me to the nearest one on his motorbike, no questions asked. Only had to pay for the boat ticket to Nakasong. Truly above and beyond!
